my revo is failing to brake. I was running it around in some parking lots with it lowered and street tires on it and i guess i just wore out the brakes???? could this be a vaible answer or could it be something else. i've run it since and it still has all of its accelleration and reverse so its hard to believe that it could be radio thing. thanks for any possible answers.

There are a number of issues that could be wrong.
Are all you linkages still connected?
Did the tension adjust screw fall off the end of the linkage rod?
Is the pivot screw secured correctly?
Those are just some of the mechanicals...
Did you adjust the trim on your radio?
Can you see the linkages move when you hit the brakes?
Can you see if your pads are still in place or worn down to the metal?
Answer a couple of those and you maybe close to fixing your issue.

Adjust the likage that goes to the breaks. It is a plastic nut near the transmission. I bet that it loostened up on you.

I doubt the brakes fadded out. Those are the same things that stop real cars and stopping 10lb car isn't really much of a large task.

thanks i'm gonna run a look over and check those things and see if anything stands out

after looking over it really closely i found that i have lost a brake pad so now that i have to take the transmission out to put in the new brake pad would it be worth it for me to put in an aftermarket brake disk that might give me a little more brake like the traxxas vented disc or the integy graphite disk? I have a sirio .23 in my revo.

if its fade you only need to check the pads for grease or fuel which has bedded itslf into the pad material. Pull it appart and give it a rinse in Metholated Spirits then let it dry an put back together. Dont scrub the pads or get a file out that will just make them too grippy. If you want them to stop dead then you are going to have to make some adjustments to the frond brake so that it locks up after the rear brake is engaged, that way the truck is not dipping forward under braking load and the front disc not getting too hot - This is what causes brake fade. the other end of the adjustment can be made to your servo and the servo horn setup so that when braking occurs the linkages are being pulled furthere than standard setup for the revo. this a little tricky to do - I can send you som images of how my truck is settup - but you will need a Dremil and some patience to get it right. My brakes will not lock up under any load as they have some extra modifications not mentioned here. The main reason i dont want lock up is so that it doesn't stress the clutch and spur gears - thats another physics problem - you will find too much brake will break other things including hardened metal.

I replaced the brake pad that had fallen out which was the problem but what are these extra mods that you talk of. i bash mainly but still like to lower it and run it full open at mx events in the parking lots, so will this be of benefit. Thanks
