Just so you guys know - MVRCA is a big liar! 🤣

I grabbed this "supposed slider" from @MVRCA, and as I started to open it up to see what all it needed, I was shocked to find it already had the electronics in it, along with a nice JX Servo. You rock dude 🤟

Just a gorgeous truck. And it looks to be pretty tough to boot. The aluminum chassis is made from Chinese bubblegum that resembles aluminum, but we're gonna fix that.

First thing I did was removed the body panels and cage. 634 screws later, I could finally see the guts of the truck! It really wasn't too terrible to disassemble. A bit like the Axial Ryft is as far as the insane number of screws. Pack a big gun if you tear into one of threse!

Then on to the electronics. This is the first RC I have owned where all I had to do was remove 9 screws and the servo horn and I had everything removed. Easy peasy!

I was thinking since the chassis plate has seen better days, I would sand it flat and apply one of Darkside Studio Art's custom skins. When I got to the Hammer Rey skins I noticed he still had the chassis plate he purchased to reverse engineer the profile to create the skins for it. He sells the chassis' he buys, and since it's technically used, It was about $17 cheaper than a new skid. So why not. So I got these coming.

The truck came with no wheels/tires, so I just grabbed some stock replacements. Amain only had two, so I grabbed another pair off Amazon.

I'll add more pics later, but since I started this tear down only intending on looking at the motor bay, the teardown was just a mess. 3 projects on the bench, and now this monster! What a disaster!

I have come to the conclusion Las Vegas is not made of sand like I thought. It's made of snuff!

Now it's time to clean. More to come!

FYI, stripper dust is sparkly. Gotta wipe it off your cheeks before heading back home.

Years ago when 3Diffs.com was still killin’ it, I had a good friend of mine on there whom I did a LOT of buying/trading with that went by “Snowman”.. To say the deals I got from him on a consistent, and frequent AF basis were phenomenal would be a ginormously epic understatement… Dude loved to buy, and build the newest, and best stuff-and our taste in manufacturers was dammiit the exact same right down to engines, and the spares we alway bought with our kits.. Only difference between us was that I was buying more than selling, and he never kept anything long enough to bother with blowing it off..

It was a running joke that I wouldn’t buy ANYTHING unless it came with at least a pound or two of “WV dirt”.. I didn’t mind the “packing material” as it definitely seemed to correlate to the price…🤷🏻‍♂️🤣
