Ok was running the stuffing out o losi today when it started to howl .. ball diff was still tight took it apart and its flat spotted in 2 places .

Its a black gear and i was told the black gears are scrap and this was common, anyway I'm going to replace the gear the balls and the diff rings and also the compound gear since the teeth are wore to a peak in it nice and sharp While I've got it apart anything else i should replace ?

Bearings are all in good shape no rough spots, What about the alum slipper shaft its only 14 $$ but is it worth it or just stick with the stock

You can put in a spring instead of the washers. AE makes a thrust spring that fits perfect. Also, a Ti diff nut will help you be able to tighten down more than with the stock. I keep a spare stock shaft on hand since I did break one already.

Aside from that, you should be fine.

Well then I'm all set i have the Ti dif nut all ready and the spring So ill just pick up a top shaft to be on safe side

Hey Christian, do you have a link to that AE spring? I remember reading something about a thrust bearing somewhere.. Ever hear about it?

Ill pull out the box tonight and get you the part number. Heading out to the creek with the kids right now.

Back in a few

I believe it come as part of a kit.
I use the spring as well. Its a lot easier to adjust and pretty much stays put once its adjusted.
Good upgrade.
