i have a t maxx 4909 and i am looking to remove reverse, is it easy to do as i am very new to rc and what do i need to buy to change it

It's not too bad. It does require you to remove and disassemble the transmission. Take a few parts out,put a few in and back together. You only need to buy the forward only conversion(foc) kit.

could somebody post a picture of an FOC converted tranny? I think the previous owner of my rig did this conversion but not sure. He may have just disconnected the reverse servo.

If it still has the chrome colored post sticking out of the front of it, where the servo used to connect then it probably hasn't been converted. If it has there should be a blue (i think) colored plug where the shaft was.

Does it still have an opti drive in the rx box? Scrap that garbage. The conversion is simple just follow the instructions.

One way to check is to spin the spur gear by hand. If the FOC has been done it will immediately turn the outdrives/wheels if it hasn't it will spin freely.
