wow, i havent been on in a while, but good to see there are more places to go now!i guess I'm going to have to get moving on putting together my mt2 again(its sitting in pieces right now, and i still have to pick up some parts for it). I'm in Huntington, and there are a few town parks out here that are pretty good size that i run at, nobody really complains about it. the one park they actually put sand piles in the parking lot for the town sanders and they are usually pretty good size. the other park actually had a track up until not too long ago but was removed from lack of use. but still plenty of room to run still.

I went out there, it was still pretty rough. I wouldnt even be able to run there with the current set up, due to my leg injury. The drivers area is a pile of dirt that you have to climb up, that ain't happening for me. The track was kind of small, and the layout was a bit strange. There is one huge ass hill you need to get some good speed to make it up, then if you miss the turn at the top you are going over the edge in to poison ivy no mans land. Bring some hiking boots and a gps to go look for your car. I don't want to sound like I am bashing on the guy, at least he is trying to put something together to run nitro on, just pointing out a few of the problems. Hopefully he can address them and there will be a cool place to burn some nitro on the island, finally.

Sean cleared a path around the north side of the track to make it easier to get up on the drivers area. Hes been experimenting with different layouts trying to get something that makes everyone happy and utilizes the space he has the best. And considering the fact that there is no other outdoor track or any other track at all to run nitros, we really can't complain. Its better then nothing and he keeps making improvements. Unfortunately it all takes money too. So if you or anyone else you know is interested come on down and help him out with some donations. The more people we get involved the more he'll be able to do. The majority of the guys that have been running there are great. Very friendly and just there to have a good time. No one screaming and yelling about getting accidentally bumped off the track or not getting uprighted fast enough. Regardless its nice to have some place to actually drive and do some fun racing. I'm sure the track will continue to improve this coming season.

Like I said, I was not at all bashing Sean, and I am real happy to finally see someone trying to get something going, I was just pointing out a few things from when I last went there that could use some attention. Once my leg is better I would love to get out there and help out any way I can, and run some myself.

I've been racing at lir alot latly w. my blue sc10... i can't run spec short course so I'm forced to run sportsman w. my freind billy lol

hey guys I'm out on eastern long island. i use to drive my rc at the old kmart parkin lot. they closed it off and last time i went there the police came and said we have 10 min to get out of there. I'm getin a new monster truck if anyone wants to go mess around talk about nitro rc and bull poop for a few hours. and if your old enough we can have a cold one or 2. let me know I'm off sundays and thursdays

its near middle island on 25. you can't go there no more its all closed off and its not worth dealin with the police there d-bags over here. anyways i would love to chill with a few guys and bash around. there is times where i wish i knew people that liked rc cars.

I have passed that old Kmart lot a few times, at this point it would be no good anyway for on road anyway, it's so overgrown and torn up. I plan on getting out to Ronkonkoma a few Sundays this year to run my on road at the train station lot.

I really wish we had a decent place to run out here in Eastern Suffolk, on or off road, just some place to run without a hassle.

well I'm off thursdays and sundays and I'm gona get a new monster 3.0 . i know its nothing crazy but i been in to rc for years and i would love to chill with some one that liked rc to. i used to work with this guy that was in to rc cars , and he had a few friends that had 1/8 buggies and we raced a few times. if u wana hang out let me know and we can meet up and just bash for a hour or 2. i stop by at action hobbies in selden when ever I'm around there, i was in there the othere day seein if they had any used rc for sale. they had a buggy beat to poop for like 450.00. i had to ask them 2 times if the price was 450.00 lol.

Damm!!
$450 is WAY to much for used. You can find a roller savage for almost half that.
Did you google maps the golds gym in islip? Great off road place to bash!

what a long day lol, i got up late tried to bring my real car to the dealership but it was to late in the day. so i called a few people from craigs list about there rc cars. then i called to local hobby shops and all they had was nitro sports( i had one and its a pos), i found out from the place that said they wanted 450 for the buggy cuz it had a new motor and alot of metal parts. they guy that i talked with over the phone was like your better off coming in and let us place a order for you. i did the ordering my self i got a mgt 3.0 and new red shock springs(will help with roll overs)

Any of you Long Island guys still bashing? Where can I take my cars to mess around? I just got back into the hobbie after a 12 year lay off. Things changed and I'm learning quick. I would love a few friends to get together with and talk shop or race around. I know a small spot in bayport behind my house that has an area to bash but its to small to get any speed. I have a Revo, a 4tec, a losi ten t, and a ofna lx. I also have to nitro boats and trying to find a place to run them is rediculous!!! I'm going to sell them and stick to cars. They sit for a year until family goes to lake george and i get to run them. LOL
