That's the thing, you can't make it happen. It just sort of does when you least expect it. Though it does help to live in a vortex of strangeness like Roanoke.

Man, here's another one. I was mowing my lawn one time and this dude comes stumbling up the street with no shoes on. I had seen this guy before (not the same guy as the last story). Anyway, he's this tall kind of "down on his luck" kind of looking guy with dirty ragges jeans, old flanel shirt hanging out and kind of a 50's elvis hair cut. And white tube socks. He comes up and starts going on about how he was napping (passed out) in the park and some bastard had stolen his boots. Great, a freakin wine-o got his boots jacked.

I was like, "did ya see who did it?" Sheepishly he mumbled something while maddog fumes drifted my way. Then he started in with some story about how he had to go to Vinton (about 6 miles away) and how he had no boots now. I was like "man, that's gonna be a bitch." Then, as he thought that he had my sympathy, he asked "can I borrow your boots? I'll get them back to ya." Mind you, this was a number of years ago, when I was quite a bit younger and I thought I could take him if he started anything. So I just kind of laughed and said "you're fuckin kidding me, right." He looked at me, I looked at him. Then I could see that realization had set in in his eyes and could hear what he was thinking "Am I that fuckin drunk that I just asked a guy I don't even know if I could borrow his boots?" Hell, if it were today, I'd have given him an old pair, but back then I only had one pair, and this homie don't give up tha last pair of boots for no man. Cause if worse came to worse, you'd be screwed without your boots.

.......................Error, that was so damn funny but so damn cruel. God man, your killing me, the people demand more, more stories, please god tell us more!

My sides are hurting and I can't feal my mouth and my mom keeeps getting pissier but I'd take a barb wire beating for more error stories.

I can't, I gotta change the laundry and hit the sack. Gotta get up and put the penguine suit on and go to church tomorrow with my mom and g-mom. Oh, the joy. but I get to binge on chockolate bunnies tomorrow "caveman style".

More stories to follow later. I might split this thread tomorrow too, make it a freaky story thread.

but.... until then

Spam or no spam we will be waiting for stories. We might as well start a new thread, ahahah. Might as well make it FFA while were at it, lol.

Do any of you have the same problem i do. I live in a suburban nieghborhood and almost everytime i fire my truck up, some kids gotta come and ask "how fast is it" and "can i drive it?" and it annoys the hell out of me. I'm sick of shuting my truck off for these kids. You tell them to go away and they come back the next day. My friends rustler got trashed because some kid rode his bike right in front of it. Man he almost hit the kid. If you guys experience this same problem, what do you do to stop it. I'm sick of doing this almost everday. Thanks.

O and what about the people that are sick of hearing the trucks? I get that here and there too.

Hey Vince, I have that same problem with grown men and my sports cars..hehe.

I love my neighborhood. The only kids that come out are 14+ and they bring their own beer.

15 yrs ago I had the neighbors from hell. I had just put in a 15t monster motor in my RC10 and was out test running it, I was getting near 30mph. Well anyway, the next door kid came out to see what I was doing. He was about 6 at the time. Everytime I made a pass he tried run out and step on it as it went by. I kept asking him to stop, then it was telling him to stop and lastly yelling at him. His mother, the PIA she was, ignored my requests that she stop him. 5 minutes later his foot came down just as it went by catching his foot under the wing. HAHAHAHAHA My car hit him at about 30mph and it pulled his feet out from underneath him. He had no time to react and his forehead slammed into the pavement. He layed there screaming bloody murder when his mother came out. She picked him up and you should have seen the goose egg on this kids head. She looked at me with hatred but I told her that I asked her to stop him from doing what he was doing. She lit into his butt making him cry even more. For the next 4 months they lived there I did not have anymore trouble from the kids.

I have kids all over my neighborhood. From 5 year old kids to 50 yr olds kids.

They can't help but come and watch something about that two-stroke sound and a litte car whizzen by.

The younger ones (6 and below) I ask them to get in the back of my truck so they can see better. That way no one gets hurt. They are more than eager to fetch my fuel, the car when it flips, or anything I need.

The older ones 7-14 or so, if they watch long enough and show real interest I let them drive. The ones who don't watch for long don't have enough interest and seem to walk off after a short bit.
The kids that age tend to listen really well, seems like they are always seeking approval. The one rule "listen to me really carefull, you don't listen, you don't drive". Firm but gentle. I haven't had a problem yet. They love to hear about the hop ups and what I have done to the truck lately. It takes very little of my time to accomadate them, and the smiles are definetaly worth every bit of it.

The older kids 18-50, they don't seem to listen well.. lol I ask em not to overdrive their skills, and they always do. If they try to get too radical I say.. hold a sec, lemme see that... and go to tune and check temp. "Welp its running too hot I gotta change some stuff.." and right back in the house.

If I want to run in peace and quiet I can take my truck anywhere. Just put it in the truck and go. It seems like it's not a whole lot of fun without someone to watch/play with tho.

I guess having three kids I have to have some patience, hell my 9 year old is a better driver than me, or my 12 year old, he's just got the feel for it.

Seems like I am the only one who breaks the damned thing anyways lol.

cool. Doug's right though, this kid billy is the good one, but this thread wasn't intended for the kids who are interested, i dont mind them as long as they keep their distance. No, this thred was for the kids that try to break them, like the Randy kid. I dont mind the ones that are interested and ask better questions than"how fast does it go" and "can I drive it?". It's the ones that wanna throw stuff at them. I wonder if Doug remembers the girl that tried to hit my truck with a baseball? Yea, some people can't respect what others do these days.

man,if any one try's to hit your truck just turn it into 2 a weapon and keep the throttle full open and aim at there legs, lmao this scares the crap out of any one.as soon as they see your car at cumin towards them at 40mph+ they poop there pants lol.

lol. yea but then i can get in some serious trouble and the trucks could be banned from the city or something and considered weapons.

That would look awfully funny on a warrant: Assault with a hopped up Maxx.

YEah I can just see the headlines "15 year old boy teabagged by RC10GT...more details at 11pm."

attitude or not, they can ask questions till they are blue in the face and i'll answer them, but they ask to drive a $300+ toy i bought, repaired and clean no way.

i live in an area that you got ATV's running up and down the street, you got kids screaming and yelling at midnight, in the summer the local ricers crusing around at night and then heading to the parking lot and try to do donuts and fail miserable at them.

i'm not gonna worry about the noise my little nitro car produces like some of those rice-burner honda's that at 3 in the morning fart by my house doing 40+ up the road.

LOL I guess I am lucky, I am on a first name basis with 7 neighbors that live close, and familiar with about 20 more.

I once went camping, went into town to get supllies stopped by the house on the way up to the mountains. While I was in the house grabbing some stuff, 4 neighbor kids 15-18 came in with baseball bats. They thought I was already camping, and my house was being robbed.

I completely understanmd not wanting to let anyone drive your maxx, they are damned spendy. I'm just a different type of guy, I let the 12-16 yr old neighbors drive my boat (with me in it of course) I taught the (at the time) 13 year old neighbor to drive a stick in my dune buggy. I taught another 14 year old how to shoot safely (hes 21 now).

Of course I now have loyal babysitters, lawn mowers, and furniture movers for free ;) So I don't have any problem lettting their youinger brothers and sisters have a little fun with my maxx. Of course if they aren't capable or don't have respect for it, they won't drive for long, or ever again.

Malicious Kids that disrespect my things, well they either come around really quick with the respect, or the whole neighborhood shuns them. It's alomst like an extended family. When my boy had his seizure, the 15 yr old neighbor kid stayed at my house (2:00am) with my two other kids so I could join my boy at the hospital.

BTW Error, I like your stories too.

I got a few, but I'm about 2 pots of coffee short tonight. I'll tell some more sometime.

At the local track I have to tell the kids to be careful when flipping over cars on the track. I try to watch out for the kids but sometimes it is really hard to look that far ahead........:naughty:

Ehhh what you really have to do is remember the kid in yourself otherwise we would not be fortunate enough to be in this kick ass hobby. My feelings on this hobby come and go today I had a little renewed faith my savage has finally hooked up and I'm stoked with it.

Kids? Some of you guys complaining about KIDS ?

I LOVE seeing kids come running every time I fire it up.
Don't think of them as pesty little irritants, but appreciate them for what they are.........
