limit stops

does anyone know where i can get some limit stops for the a-arms on my maxx

I think you mean limit straps. I have heard of guys making them with cable, has anyone tried that?

i just dont want to drill any holes in the shock towers i got from you scott

just take a zip-tie and go through the middle of the top a-arm then up and around the middle of the shock tower, and tighten it until it limits the suspension as much as u want. then repeat on the other a-arms.

I remember seeing it somewhere else, using thin cable. It is also mentioned on Unlimited Engineering as being in development.

Dang it maxx, that is exactly what I was looking for! It looks like a good idea, but I haven't had a need for it myself. I break the pistons off the shaft from hard impacts and probably too thick oil.

i read what u said in that one post.. the cable straps, and i remembered where i seen it, so i went there and found it. i dont really see the point in aluminum a-arms, i would just stick with RPM a-arms for a weak point.

I was just gonna' say that. Not only can you change the ride height by using the fuel line inside the shocks, but It also acts as a damper to protect the screw hole from breaking in the cap when the suspension goes to full extention. You know there's a bad snap because you're breaking zip ties.

first the fuel line will rip and tear, 2nd the fuel line will eventually start to crumble apart from the shock oil making it really soft.

his problem is that the a-arms have more travel then what the shocks allow, so limiting the shock travel.... wont really help. i think this will be the best solution besides getting longer shocks..

Good point. I hadn't thought of that. Fuel line is made for nitro fuel, and other chemicals (including gasoline) destroy it.

if u really want to use fuel tubing trick, use the rubber o-rings that come with the shock rebuild kits instead of fuel tubing because the o-rings are suppose to be in silicone..
