that lil bushing thing holds the metal reverse gear in place-which a bearing rides on.the only metal gear in a reverse transmission-u dont need it for a foc maxx trans. did u clean the one-way bearing with a carb cleaner or brake clean-the metel part being held on by a lock ring.if even a lil grease gets on it-it will free rev the engine.
www.traxxas.com has all the exploded views of the trans. look for the s-maxx exploded(2speed with the foc) view trans b/c t-maxx wil show reverse setup in the exploded view. not the sportmaxx(single speed w/foc)s-maxx is for stadium maxx. the only other way to get a exploded view of a foc trans is when you buy a brand new foc for the t-maxx-they include a paper w/ the exploded view trans-which is basically a s-maxx trans.and if u 4get even one little teflon washer it will not work right for some reason. oh-i myself have rebuilt 2.5 trannys like 10 times-and i converted all to foc. my maxx has a o.s 18tm motor, foc, integy silver bulks, metal front and rear skids,3.3 diffs, aluminum steering w/bb,jr650 steering servo and
traxxas 2055 servo for throttle and brake. my old bb maxx kept frying driveshafts and oneway trans bearings. my o.s powered maxx is truly reliable and can take a beating. still has stock shocks, stock shock towers.etetc. oh and a wheelie bar-cause the o.s needs it. hope this helps. good luck
when u visit traxxas website-go to products and select nitro-the s-maxx is below the 3 t-maxx models-click on s-maxx-right under the first pic-on the right it says exploded views-click that and it will give you a choice for the front, rear, chassis and transmission.the exploded assembly views sections-you need adobe acrobat to open it-select the transmisson assembly view-and it will show the trans exploded view-print it and use that to rebuild the trans-dont 4get the teflon washers-mainly on the 2 speed shaft. good luck
