Got this phone as a replacement for my 710 when I broke it. I called and bitched that I wanted another Motorola or I was changing providers. Anyway, used less than a week. Also have 12v car adapter (not pictured). Phone is Bluetooth. Thought I'd offer it here before it goes on eBay. $135 shipped to you. US only, Paypal preffered.

I myself like the motorolas. That phone is a pretty good phone. Great if you are into the Vcast thing I got the Razr myself. It was free for me.

jet - I've VERY tempted at this, I've got an LG6000 and have really liked it up till recently. It's been through a lot and is now starting to show it's age.

You can get the insurance plan for 5.99/month. Covers all things including stupidity.Really. That is why I got that plan to ensure I have a phone.

Yeah it was under the insurance plan, but your limited to 2 claims per year. After the lawsuit against Verizon on the 710 they took the phone off the market and replaced it with the 815. I busticated my 710 in that time frame and they sent me what they figured to be a comparable phone. Not the case when you have like 10 different chargers for Motorola (travel, 2 car, wall units at home in the office, downstairs and at work. They would only replace one charger.

My Razr wont charge with my old 265 at all. Totaly different

Yeah that's true. I got into a huge bitch session with Verizon about the Razr, sore subject with me. When I was going to drop them over this fiasco they offered the 815. I asked them point blank 3 different times during the conversation if they were going to release a Razr soon and was told NO every time. One of my co-workers has a son that works for Motorola and he said that Verizon was getting one but didn't know when so I knew this guy was lying. Well I take the 815 and it wasn't even 2 weeks later and they released the Razr. I called CS and was hung up on twice, probably cause of the choice words I was using. Now I gotta figure out what to do cause I need a Blackberry for work and Verizon doesn't have international coverage.

its cause of the cdma network they use. most of the world is going to GSM cause its cheaper but in verizon's case older technology is sometimes better for them. They get better signal and faster network speeds but they are not worldwide. Talk to CS, they have a world phone you can rent from them. Well, according tot he rep I talked to last week anyway. I travel alot for work and can be sent anywhere (prolly not as much as you but still) so this was one of the issues i brought up when we switched last week. They said they DO have world phones. If you want to use your blackberry workdwide your SOL.

I love the look of the Razr but when I started using one in the store I hated the interface. The menus suk IMO. I really like the E815 much better. The chick HAD to get the pink Razr to match her pink outfits and such and even she is liking the plain grey e815 better. Camera seems to take better pics too, and gotta love the wanna be flash!

I would lie this phone a lot.

After the lawsuit against Verizon on the 710

whats this about i have a 710....

Not to derail this thread any further than has been, a lot of misperceptions being put out there regarding wireless technology. Having been in telecommunications for 13 years and having worked for a major carrier, I am more than happy to give the honest scoop on technologies and what not. Just send me a note.

Just to clear one item up, CDMA is not an older technology than GSM, it's just different. Also, simply because you have a GSM device does not guarantee it will work in every GSM region. Always ask your carrier before plunking down your cash.

Everyone is going with the 8700 on the Cingular network. So far for us it has worked in France, Italy, Luxembourg, UK, Thailand and Hong Kong. The one world phone Verizon offers is one of the biggest pieces of crap out there. You can get prepaids to use with Skype that are better. I'm trying to force Verizon to let me out of my contract without the cancellation fee since they do not have the service I need nor do they plan to offer it.

Bigmo, your too late on the lawsuit. It was a class action against Verizon for stripping down the Bluetooth capability of the 710. There were three options to pick from but you had to reply by Dec 9, 2005. Had I known of what was going to transpire this year, I would have selected the get out contract free option.

FYI

GSM is a newer technolgy that branched off of GPRS ( General packet Radio Service ) Most TDMA networks utilized this new GSM netowrk like AT&T and cingular.

Verizon: was using strictly AMPS ( Advanced Mobile Phone Service ) then slowly went to CDMA since it allowed more calls to go through and there were faster speeds.

True that Verizon has not jumped on the GSM network or adapt their business phones to be used on the "world" networks.

I hope you sell your Phone there Jet. BUMP!
