hey, my dads friend got a used legacy traxxas nitro buggy and he can't get it started so he gave it to me to get it running. it needs battery and air filter and. i rigged it up with a 6v traxxas battery and put my air filter on it without the housing. and i still can't get it started. idle is good neven opened up the throttle a bit. still nothing. any tips?

glow plug? good fuel? set the needles back to factory settings, and try it

brand new glow plug, and new o'donnel fuel. i think the needles are on factory settings. what would they be on it?

May seem silly, but make sure you ignitor will light the glow plug.. I got an engine all out of whack twisting the needles before I found out my supposedly charged up ignitor wasn't working.. DOH! Hope ya get it figured out! ;)

I'd seal it before trying to run it. If it has been sitting for years, all the seals will be dry rotted. Seal the carb throat, header, back plate and hsn housing. I'd examine the o-ring on the lsn while I was at it too. New fuel lines, fuel and make sure the tank is sealed. Find the factory settings, pop a new plug in with a charged ignitor and it should fire right up. May need to lean it a hair so it stays running.
