So i got this old school buggy and i took the engine apart and cleaned everything put it back together and mounted it on an engine stand and i had the engine running great after i put it back in the car it was still good and everything but i left some gas in it for 2 days and when i tried starting it it took awhile and wasn't as easy as it should have been but it eventually started and i had it running around half throttle for a few minutes so all the gas and oil would blow out and the connecting rod blew so i put a new one in it and the sleeve and the piston seamed like they overheated and warped because the piston wouldnt slide all the way to the top so i thought i could sand the piston a little bit would that work or would there not be enough compression?

You will destroy it. A new sleeve and piston needs to be broken in, just as if it were a brand new engine.

See THIS THREAD for breaking in properly.

do you know where i can find a new piston and sleeve for this particular model
