Hi Gentlemen,

I know this must be the 1000th time such a question has been asked on this topic , but I'm sure you can all appreciate the frustration of these problems. I'm only 1 week into the hobby and already sucked into it, despite this current problem.

Basically, I've used plenty of TLC during the break in, and my buggy was running fine for a few days. However I'm now faced with a situation where as soon as I start (starts easily) it will idle fine for uptp 30 seconds and stalls, or if I drive it off with only moderate accelerations it also stalls.

I'm using 20% fuel, and the High Needle is 4 full turns out, even when leaning out the fuel it does the same thing. I have noticed excess moisture/fuel around the glow plug, so possibly its too rich and flooding.

Any other suggestions apart from persisting with it ?

Thanks in advance for any advise.

Right now, it sounds as the the LSN is still too rich. Turn it in 1/16th and see if it gets better. If it improves, but is still sluggish and stalling, go anothe 16th. The LSN controls the low end, and the HSN is for WOT. When you lean the LSN, you might also have to lower your idle. When it idles well, is up to temp and pulls a good hole shot, adjust the HSN for WOT.
Good luck, keep us posted.

Thanks mate,

I'll give it a try. I have played around with the LSN, but I'm most likely starting from the wrong position. Apparently it should be flush, which I'm assuming is flush with the needle housing. Can you suggest how many full turns from closed it should be out.

I appreciate your help.

Well, I don't know what engine you're running, but the easiest way to do it, since it IS starting, then 'snotting' up and quitting, is to turn the LSN in 1/16 before starting it, then trying it, then adjusting it again, if need be, till it runs.
Where it is right now is close, and it's probably still factory rich.
You're not far off, so a couple of tweaks from now, it should be good to go.
The final check, when it's at running temp, is bring the car in, and pinch the fuel line close to the carb. It should speed up slightly, then cut off between 3 - 4 seconds. Less than that, and it's a little lean on the LSN. More than that and it's still rich.
The HSN routinely needs a tweak when outside temp and humidity changes.

Thanks Dude,

A little bit of patience turned out to be worth the wait, all is running sweet at the moment. Fingers crossed things keep going.
