I would like to know how the hell you get a city like san fran to shut down all those streets during daylight hours in order for somone to do that? there was no one on the streets... that had to cost them...

I would guess they change tires a few times. At some points you can see it wasn't his first try.

He makes some entertaining videos, but in the last year I've seen him in the top 10 of WRC once. The problem with rally stages, you only get one take.

He's not really a WRC driver, more of an exhibitionist in my opinion. I know he's made a go at it, but I simply don't consider him in the same league as someone like Gronholm, Solberg, etc.

Also, it really sucks that we don't have decent WRC coverage here in the states. It is my favorite form of four wheeled racing hands down.

Easy, just carry a really big wallet and give the city tons of free publicity. Like it needs it :D

I agree. Those WRC drivers have mad skills, it's crazy how fast they blitz through a narrow forest road. What's more crazy is how close spectators are. Nuts.

Wrc and v8 supercars would be my favorite :) also love watching isle or man tt. That is just crazy

Just to add a few things... they put Pastrana in there... thats all i needed... best supercross, xgames, craziest MF in the world... who also raced a offroad car... and is in the process of trying to get licenced for a nascar... enough of him... but... the drift car... still a mystery... impressive amount of HP for those little cars... and if i understand it right they are spinning the wheels in the turns... are they 4 wheel drive? and the brake... it shows him pulling the brake once and then the video shows it sliding... how does that work? if he is braking and spinning the rear wheels??? honestly i have to admit i tried it once... before drifting came in... i was drunk... in a rental car... at 3 am... leaving a topless club... and ran a yellow light... it turned red by the time i went under it and a cop saw me... but i was doing 60 when his lights came on so i ran.... and as i used to remember the old 70s and 80s era cars your could power barke and slide... but apparently the new cars have anti lock so my whole steering cloumn vibrated excessively and i clipped a curb... so you see ... i have some experience and some drunken dumbchit... its impressive... I'm too old to do that again... but i still wonder... how the hell does it work?

The e-brake is used to start the slide, after that, it's all finesse. You need to keep the tires spinning fast enough to slide, but you also need them to maintain some "traction" to allow you to keep control. I know it doesn't make any sense, sliding with traction, but I've done it on a set of tires that had no grip........it ended badly.

I know alpine doesn't want to hear it and probaly wont admit it out loud... but yes... running from the cops does work sometimes... but if they catch you... it does hurt... physically

someone else posted 2 bikes... triumphs... drifting... that is impressive... those speeds... and that control... balls of steal my friend... stainless steel... polished... i ride and i know... and anything pastrana is on... I'm game to see

i used to have a 1970 formula firebird that i used to slide around... not like the drifters are doing but in a power brake slide in the turns... different but kinda the same... but nothing like the control the drift cars are showing.... i was mostly running into a turn... brake and sliding around... and no new tires... i dont think any of my tires matched back then
