just notch a groove in the edge of the lid and run the wire thru it, I don't think it's going to need waterproofing, I leave mine hang out just behind the front bumper and is easy to get to even with the body on, as for charging, I use my Vision Peak 2 charger (made by Dynamite) for charging my hump pack, set on 5 cell and rate of 1 amp........that's what the extra cord you see in the picture is for.

just to let you know... don't get that one... the same seller has a 5 cell 6V NimAH... or you can go to ebay buyer all-batteries.. you can get 3 6V 5cell NimAh humps for $19.00 more powerfull and last longer...

I had the one you are planning to get and it doesn't hold very long for 4.8v... plus it is pretty weak for the 3 channel.. drains quick..

6V 5 Cell NiMah...
