the plug is damp and the wire looked black

i started from factory settings trying to get the rig tuned properly. I made a few passes to warm engine then leaned hsn a few times then the glow plugs would go.

What plugs are you using. I have a smoked 2.5 that runs like crap most of the time and has reached 320. Plugs are always fine. Changed 'em to be sure. Trx heavy duty longs.

the second glowplug was damp and the wire brownish looking and it almost looked like it was almost gone

i tried again and about 1/4 tank it blew another glow plug . ther was a funny smell but saw alot of blue smoke. are you talking about the hsn or lsn being lean please help getting frustrated and running out of money please help!!!!!!

Go back to factory settings. Sounds like the low end is lean. You'll get smoke as soon as you apply throttle, even if the low speed is lean. Maybe go factory on your lsn and try that. A little raw fuel coming from the pipe is normal for a rich setting, but it doesn't mean your extremely rich. Adjust in "hourly" increments.
