K5.9 in a Savage X 4.6?

I was wondering if i could just pop in a K5.9 in my savage 4.6 as i blew the motor in it. would i be able to just put the new motor in and go or will there be grinding needed? thanks

It should drop right in, however, I would suggest going with a higher quality engine such as any of the LRP engines. They make great power and are very easy to tune.

If u decide to go with he k5.9 it will fit in just like the 4.6 motor! I've done it before so you shouldn't have any problems......

PLEASE do not buy a 5.9 to throw in there. the k5.9 on ebay right now is about 100-140$ and the LRP .30 spec 2 pull start is $180, that engine blows the 5.9 away. It is well worth the extra money. I believe the LRP .32 is about $200, and supposedly its a real monster.

Someone recommended the Lrp .32 to me, it looks like it'd be a beast in a savage or something, considering it puts out over 4hp

Is that a Team Associated LRP engine? If I were going to buy a Savage XL, should I buy a used one and drop in an LRP engine?

It depends on how much you want to spend, but if you can get the LRP thats from team associated, and the XL, do that. either bubble wrap that 5.9 up for later use, or sell it on ebay to make back some money.

I try to follow a rule not to buy used rigs. (been burnt before) I wouldnt ebay it, but i trust these forums.
