K 4.6 ?

What better place to aska HPI question then the savage thread right? I actually have a couple questions. The first is that I recieved a Brand new K 4.6 and it has SUPER compression. Is it normal for it to be that tight. It tight enough that I'm afraid when I go to start it I'm going to break the pull start. The other question is what is a good tuned pipe for the motor? I'm putting it on a Tmaxx btw.

no thats normal in most engines just before u start it loosen the glow plug a little bit. and i wouldent put a 4.6 in a t-maxx.

To be honest I dnt know. Its one that has been peiced together. If i was a betting man I would say its a classic. I have upgraded quite a bit of stuff to accomodate the big motor.

I did break my pull start on my K 4.6. It was my first BB and that sucker was tight. Loosening the glow plug was not enough for me. I had to heat it up to 200 deg f for it to loosen up enough to turn over a few times. Breaking in that motor was a pain in the you know but now it's one of the best mills I've ever had. Keep a heat gun or hair dryer close for break in and even a few tanks after.

well be careful with it then cuz if it was a .15 or 2.5 then ur going to fu** up your tranny gears.

I plan on putting the robinson racing steel gear set in the tranny.
