Lykan, you don't need a rew rx & tx. Yes, on a brushless setup you will get longer run times. Brushless motors are much more efficient in how they use power.
If you go the Mamba route make sure you can run lithiums as well. The Mambas don't run well too often on anything but lithiums....sometimes the GP1100 cells will work, but sometimes they don't.

If you do buy lithium polymer batteries just make sure that you get the good ones. Apogee and Thunder Power are among the best. The more cells that you use the faster that it will go with a 3 cell maximum or 11.1 volts if you plan on switching to a Castle Creation Mamba package.
There is more... you will need to have a lithium polymer (li-po) charger.

Mamba motor and esc $135.00
Li-po cells $40-60
Li-po charger $89-250.
Deans plugs $6.

My Mini T project ended up costing around $600. That amount included three 3 cell lipos, lipo charger, an rx, the original cost of the Mini T and several other options. I loved the power so much that I bought an M-18 XRay as a project for this winter. There is no comparison between the brushed and the brushless motors powered by li-po batteries. I linked some videos of brushless Mini T's to this site from Bishop Power products a while back. Watch all three of them.

just ordered my rc18 today.....i also wanted to know if the arms break easy?

the arms hold up great. i Accidentally drove mine of the upstairs of my house and it landed on tile and the arms didn't break. the only think i don't like about my car is that it always looses the bottom shock cups.

also i wanted to know when you use the chubby motor do you have to get a diffrent motor plate?

No. YOu have to use the motor mount holes that are not slotted their direct and it drops right in. The chubby is awsome. I have all the team part orderd :).

how much did all the team parts cost? i might want to get all that... and i wanted to know which hitec servo will work with it because I'm gonna order one today or tomarrow....

thanks for the help

In the manual it says with the hitec you have to use trhe opitional mount. All the team parts were about 250.

The team parts have not gotten here yet. I will get some pics up tonight.

Sorry it wont be for at least 2 weeks. But the parts will be on for the pics. I am at my momos and the micro is at my dads. I will pm them to you gil.

Ok those of you that have been waiting for the pics. They will be here soon. I am waiting for my secound set of cvds to come and thats it.
