the roto start is good i had a problem with it when i got my savage because i kept on trying to start it when it was flooded and broke the one way bearing i was new. :)
but i fix it and haven't had a problem with it after that.

I haven't ran these personally side by side so I can't give you an answer. The Tmaxx is fast though. The Savage is a fast truck but you are now comparing two different scale MT's The MGT is in the same class as the Savage but is slower. Granted the MGT has a 21 and the Savage now has a 25 ( soon to be discontinued) and the 28. It has to do with the gearing of the Savage and the Tmaxx. I think the Savage in its present state has more tunability than the Tmaxx. The Tmaxx has greased diffs and can't use Diff locking silicone oil. The Savage can. I think between the two the Tmaxx is faster from separate expereinces. I have had the Tmaxx and enjoyed the speed but the Savage is a damn strong truck in power and durabilty.
 
I"m going to break it in today. I have a bout a tank worth of duratrax red fuel and then a whole quart of traxxas fuel....all 20%. By changing fuels, will this affect the break-in at all?
 
I would recommend sticking with the same fuel for the entire break in. If you only have one tank worth of the duratrax why bother. Technically you can do it as long as you don't switch nitro percentage, but I dont recomend it. Different fuels are made differently, different oil, and oil content. Different fuels usually require retuning which you dont want to be doing while breaking it in. Stick with one fuel.
 
So will the traxxas top fuel work fine for a couple months perhaps then maybe switching fuels down the road? I can't recall which fuels my LHS sells but that is what I've usually purchased only because I had a tmaxx recently and have extra fuel left from it.
 
If you got the new savage 25 rtr, with the spider diff and servo saver mod, I don't understand why you have to fit them yourself?
Mine came exactly as the letters explain... RTR = Ready To Run.
The mods were already in place.
Or did you buy an older 25 and the mods seperately?
 
Nope....I bought a 25 and it included the spider diff and servo saver however they were not installed.
 
i owned a maxx and now a savage and the my savage will blow the doors off a maxx. oh and the savage is way tougher.
 
Do the upgrades dude. I didn't and messed up the diff housings on mine not long after break-in.

I know it looks hard to work on. But after having it apart a couple of times it gets easier. I used to hate taking mine apart. :cheers:

In your opinion is the TMaxx a junk MT? Just curious as to your thoughts. Thanks for all your help.
