Just got a NTC3

just got it yesterday it was used a little bit by a guy i know and it has a o.s 18 graphite and was running it today it was averageing 67.3 mph and thats with my low gears my high gears it was averaging 89 mph i love this thing and controls like beaut but I'm running odonnell 20% fuel and someone told me i should richin it up because it doesn't have alot of oil in it should i do this.

RC NITRO has tested the OS 18TZ and they mentioned with proper gearing it could attain speeds that high but you say low gears and I have the NTC3 and my low gears prevent me from reaching top speeds.


How are you getting these numbers? Calculations? Maybe an incorrect calculation.

If it's done by calculations, pass over the numbers and I'll plug em in the good ole spreadsheet. Engine rpm's, tire size (outside diameter), pinion/spur size ... that's what's needed. Gear pitch, drive ratios and the rest will be determined by the pinion/spur combo. If it's done with a venom speed meter a video including the run and shot of the meter read out will be necessary. Radar gun info is best. Also, how much running space was available?

If it's a legit claim then I sure would like to see the proof. Even my schumacher fusion21 took a while to hit 70+ (better part of a football field) and that was with a .21 engine and 3 speed.

Which .os .18 do you have? 75 MPH sounds optimistic.
