Well Ok I didn't exactly get the Savage for free. I sold a computer to a guy I know and as payment he gave me a NIB Savage. The only thing that is missing is the stock engine. But it will come with the header, pipe, flywheel, clutch and clutch bell. So all I need is an engine and this beast will live. Now the question that comes up is which engine to get. The first two that came to mind was the Hyper 8 port or the Picco .26. I hate pull starters with a passion so I would like to use the rotostart if possible. TIA.

DAMN DUDE!!! Good show! wish i had some of that luck you have! r u gonna be able to bring it to the bash?

I am going to try and have it for the bash. I am doing a side network job this weekend. That cash is gonna go towards a new engine for the Savage.

I hope you meant you were planning on buying the Header, Pipe, Clutch and bell along with the engine. The engines don't come with them. As far as the engine, the HPI 21BB and the new 2.5 would be fine if you don't need tons of power. I don't have one but myself, but would buy the Picco .26 forst choice and the Ofna Hyper 8 port as second choice if I was buying an engine. I do have the Roto Start on my 21BB and is works great, no rope pulling.

No what I ment is the stock header, pipe, clutch and bell came with the Savage. These are all of the stock parts that were on the 21BB engine. The only thing that this Savage is missing is the engine. He sold it on eBay and he was going to buy a Hyper 8 port but never did.

you pretty much have to use the stock HPI header on the savage, no matter what engine you put in. That header has a tight radius and just about every other header will not work in the savage (the right rear shocks are in the way).

If you want a rotostart on it, get the 21BB or a Picco .26, the hyper will not take the roto (though some have modified the roto and engine backplate and tried, but it does not work on it very well).
