i just recieved my 3.3 of ebay today.. i am putting it of my s maxx 2.5. but for some reason my easy starter is not turning the motor over. even with the glow plug out!!!! is the 2.5 and the 3.3 the same easy starter??

can you turn the new motor over by hand, make sure it's not locked up, and I think they are the same..

Try turning the flywheel backwards to bring the piston down to BDC. That should give it a running start when you hit the EZ start.
By the way, did you get the engine new?

yea it has never been started.. if i take the glow plug out i can turn it over no prob.. it seems like it has way to much compression with the glow plug in to turn the motor over. i did get it to kick twice just for a second and it did start both times but it stalled. the starts was'nt back to back. they were about 12 hours apart...

Before you try to start it, loosen the glow plug about 1 1/2 turns, then after it starts, tighten the glow plug. Loosening the glow plug reduces the compression by allowing blow-by. This is common on most new nitro engines.:)

With a new engine your starter battery will have to be at full charge. Preheat the engine with a heat gun or blow dryer this along with loosening the glow plug(as mentioned above) will help.
