RC Driving Style
i just now got done swapping my OS .21 Rg from my maxx with the XTM 24.7 from my x-terminator. while the RG was very fun in the maxx and was much more powerful than the trx 2.5 was all over the powerband, i wanted more... so in went the 24.7. i can't wait till tomaro so i can see if i can tear up some drivetrain peaces....=devil or at least do some back flips from a stand still. so far my only upgrade to the drivetrain is xtm cvd's with titanium drive pins, a RRP double disk slipper, and aluminum clutch shoes. i think I'm trying to find an excuse so i can upgrade my diffs, and tranny gears lol. as for the RG, I'm sure itll have plenty of rip for my x-terminator, anyways..ill follow up tomaro, peace---

fired it up today...was having early clutch engagement problems and had hard time keeping it running, but when i was able to run it...damn, that OS RG jsut puffed smoke compared to the xtm 24.7's firebreath...although the short time it ran i didnt experience any wheels pulled off the ground it was struggling for traction from bottem to top fish-tailing so much i rolled it trying to go in a straight line lolz, and if traction was there it would definatly have the power to lift them. only thing i did notice is that it defenatly has less rpm than the OS, toping out a tad bit slower. although it only takes about 2 seconds to hit full speed. on my clutch problems, i installed aluminum shoes also last night, either i need a new spring or the shoes are too heavy for the stock spring? BTW i have them leading, maybe i should try trailing? thx for any help...my maxx is slowly becoming the beast it should be...hehe, peace

well i have the XTM conversion chassis, and my wheel base is about 13.5 inches now....which is about as long as any extended conversion kit on the market? anyway i tried mounting my aluminum shoes trailing, and that fixed the early/on idle clutch engadgement problem i had. as for gearing, even tho at absolute top it is a little slower than with the RG, it still has plenty if not too much speed for a monster truck in my opinion, and the fact it barely is controlable during acceleration is what i wanted hehe, i have my 1/8buggy and 1/10 on road for precise driving, the maxx is jsut to tear it up overkill style. thx for the sugestions tho, and that cybermaxx is an awesome cage. peace--

u got the right kit, but them cvd's aint going to last long. trust me i had mine out in 3 weeks and got me some MIP and Dynamite ones.

as for the not wheeling yet, jsut give her time, it took mine around 12 tanks to actaully run at its full potential. i have mine geared at liek 72/22 and it works good

hey supermaxx, when you kept breaking your xtm cvd's, which part of the CVD was breaking? if you are breaking the pin that is replacable than i have a fix, although i havnt had a good chance to assault the cvd's with the new found 24.7 power, they held up perfectly for the RG ( and the RG was able to break the cvd's). i used a # 29 titanium drill bit, inserted it thru the cvd shaft/coupler unit and cut to lenghth. so far it has held up great. the stock xtm drive pins have a groove in them to help the set screw hold it in place, that is the weak point in the pin, i left the titanium drill bit shaft without the groove and it holds in place fine. you can get a titanium bit for about 3$. as for the XTM it self it was heat cycled for break in and has about 3 quarts maybe a lil more thru it already, i pulled the motor out of my x-terminator buggy to put it in my maxx. i truly believe it will flip the truck in a pissed off matter if it had traction, so in all I'm very happy with the 24.7's output.

i tried everything with those cvd's liek u said with the pins, snapped them off, so i just went and got new ones.

i went out just a while ago to drive mine, and the dang clutch shoes went out, now to the lhs to get some new ones!

well i got about one tank in today before i blew my front diff...it was still drivable jsut had RWD only...and then after that my throttle servo was tripping out, so shut the maxx down for the day, and after that ran my buggy hitting a snow pile for a jump and ended up getting the electronics wet lol....so not so great a day. sucks about your shoes..are you gona get stock or aluminum?

i will go with the MIP clutch, ya, i found that the diffs dont last too long wtih all that power, go and get some better ones.
