RC Driving Style
Hey guyz, well I'm back at wanting to get a racer buggy. I am a racer on a budget. So i have come down to the ofnas due to parts availability, hands down ofna. I will be getting rid of my savage racer and getting a buggy for racing. I have come down to maybe like a jammin or a hyper 7. I will most likely be dropping in a top p5 or a picco p7whatever. And then maybe a jr xs3 pro radio. I am thinking pro kit. I am only 16, and dont have very much money, but want a decent racer. If i do get a kit, i will still be down for about a month and a half to save up for motor and electr. Spill what u got to say..............Any comments or ideas for me to somehow figure how to get one of these bad boyz. I finally got the chance to drive one the other day at the track, and all i got to say, is SWEEEEET~!!!

See i have a savage with the xtm 247 pro and a couple of other mods, so it is either i get a buggy, or i get a rc18t to play around with and enter the 1/10 electric class at the track and race with them. I kill all the monster trucks at my track with my savage, but there are a couple of truggys that are in my class and i hate them, they should be enetering the unlimited class.
And not to bragg, but i am a decent driver, I've beaten a couple of pros.
I dont really believe in radios, except for the awsome synthisized. But i dont really see the point in getting a awsome radio just so i could adjust endpoints, etc.. What ever happened to the days where the driver actually had to drive their cars.

got with the jammin rtr u can get them for right around 500

HonestlyI would wait till Kyosho releases their new line, GS Racing is supposed to be releasing the CL-1 and now I heard Mugen is realeasing the MBX6 but not sure.

Your choice may be regretful.IMO of course.

mbx6? where did u hear this jon!!!!!!!!!!! please let it be not true

I also want to mention that i am in California, where all the hobby peoples are. I have also been very curious about the xtm x-terminator pro. I know that people dont like xtm, but i dont think they are bad. I am going to RCX, and they will be selling the xterminator pro for 150 bux!!!!!!!
X-terminator pro.......................................150 bux
Starter Box..............................................100 bux
Motor(rb, top p5, something decent, because i know in the buggy class, u gotta have a rockin motor..........................................200-300 bux
Radio Jr xs3 pro........................................250
Tires......................................................$$$

Seems like a pretty good deal. I have about 3 hobbypeoples' around me, so parts are really really easy to get, easier than ofna stuff. Besides i want somehting that is durable, and can be a decent racer at club level. What do you guyz think?? This would save me about 900 bux and i get to keep my savage.

Just curious, what's your dad's advice? Have you asked him? This is a great father/son hobby,I know, I have three sons, 5 buggies, 2 Savages, and 2 Revo's. You may be overlooking some of the most practical advice.

Me and my dad are kinda rivals. We help eachother and help with cars, work on cars together. But its one of those things where i have the savage big block, but hes got the revo small block. And we both race, so its always kind of a thing where a revo is better than the savage and vice versa. Its kool. But i have been in this longer than he has, and i know more, so i help him out more, but he thinks i should get a buggy to race. Not to bragg, but i am a really good driver, and everybody at the track says the same. I am for sure getting a xterminator deluxe tommorow at RCX, for 300 bux. What a killer deal, and since i have to pay all on my own, it is great so i dont have to pay 1000 bux for a racer.

can i make the suggestion to drive an example of the buggy your looking at before you buy it? the exterminator is a good deal, but you will outgrow it very fast in a racing setting. i think you would be much better off with a mayhem pro, or jammin rtr, if your looking for a racer on a budget. both are more adept buggies out of the box, and there are plenty of upgrades to grow with when your ready.

Yea i was going to suggest mayhem as well its tough as nails and really only needs and upgraded steering servo for the rtr. Throw a picco 27 in it for 200 and u got urself a nice little ride.

Mayhem would be your best bet, has lots of features that pro buggies have , right out of the box, and is extremely durable too!
