is there stronger dogbones outhere? cause the stock one really is weak. i just break my 5th dogbone in 2 weeks. that's not normal is it? the dogbones that i broke is not the one that's connected to the wheels, rather it's the one that's connected to the tranny, and the brakes. i dont want to buy a lot of dogbones, cause it cost $3 a piece. i guess belt driven is better than shaft driven, but still i can't believe rs4 RTR3 can not handle os CVR-X. any ideas why my dog bones keep snapping into two? thanks guys

take out the dogbone that is breaking, make sure there isnt any resistance in the differential. you might have siezed it up and are putting extra strain on that dogbone. also make sure that the dogbone is well seated in both the drive cups, if its falling out of one that could lock it up momentarily and snap it while under power. are you getting the proper length replacement? also if its sitting too far into one of the cups you can space it out a little with an o-ring or 2. another thing to look for is if your drive cups are worn out or bent, this will also cause extra strain and possible binding that will break dogbones. there is a problem somewhere in your driveline, not just a dogbone problem. I've run a fantom 15 in my hpi shaftdrives and never broken the dogbone you are, and i beat the poop outa my cars. I've stripped the hexdrive right out of the wheels and snapped individual dogbones that drive the wheels but never a center drive dogbone.

thanks, for now, i'm guessing that one of my drive train cups might be bent. but i'll look further into it later today. thanks for all suggestions and comments

TMD I have the RS43 SS with a fantom FR15 which is a comperable engine to the OS engine you are running if not more power. I don't see how the engine alone is doing this to your dogbone. Something has to be wrong elsewhere. I have a gallon into mine and am still running the stock drive shafts. I will not disagree with you in saying the stock ones are week but none the less shouldn't be a problem. I would look for the tranny binding or look at the differential to see what might be up in there you may have as another user said stipped a gear and caused it to seize. Let us know how you come out.

i've got an hpi rs4 with an ofna picco .21 in it and i have twisted the rear dogbones in half before

dude my 3ss never damaged the center dogbones until I installed the os mill. I only broke one but have twisted several:eyes:

Still don't see how it's possible with an OS 15 motor since I have a very comperable motor. Newayz I'm just dumbfounded

I have run a fantom FR15 and am now running a fantom FR12 and have not had any problems. Not to say I won't or anything but I guess I have been fortunate so far.

invested in some gpm dogbones hold up very well but CA glue the pins in before you drive it
