Other day i was using my 4010 duo. Completed a battery charger. Unplugged battery and set the battery aside. I then moved the charge leads out of the way and the positive lead from the charger touched the side metal screw of my power supply and maybe a nice pop sound. So good it left a little arc spot. I was like hmmmmm okay. Pulled out my volt meter and the charge lead has 34 volts standing voltage on it. Is this nomral for this charger?

That's not normal for any charger. Once the charger doesn't detect a battery anymore it's supposed to cut off all power. If the charger isn't charging the leads are supposed to be dead. If you unplug a battery in the middle of a charge your charger should go into error mode and cut off the power.

Kinda figured. I will be taking it back to the hobby shop i bought it from new to see what can be done. Purchased less the a month ago.

My pile of junk ProTek Quad has done the same thing. This was uninterrupted, and the battery on that channel was balanced/completed. When I pulled the bullets, I was accidentally arc-welding my SS kitchen sink tub. It SHOUD NOT, but it will. 🙄🤷🏻‍♂️

Very well. Ya i checked on my tool kit rc MD8 and shows zero voltage. If i knew why this is happening if i had a little more electronics know how i'd fix it but noted on all that and i'll let the pro's fix it or replace.
