Hey guys,

newbie here, I purchased a jlb cheetah for my 9 year old. He’s been running it around quite a few times lately with no problems.
He took it out yesterday and sounded like a grinding when he’d accelerate. Slipped a few times then stopped moving.
Can hear the gears still spinning when you pull the trigger?? Not obviously not moving at all. Everything else still operates as it should

many advice on what could have happened and how I can fix if?

appreciate your help!

As was mentioned in your other post, you need to pull the cover off the spur and pinion, and see if one of them got stripped before going any further. This video:
will show exactly how to do that. If you hit the throttle, and can hear something spinning, more than likely, its the motor you hear, and, if you can hear the motor but it dont move, then either the spur or pinion is bad. These are known for spur gear issues, so start there. If the spur and pinion both spin, but the car doesn't move, then most likely the slipper clutch somehow got damaged or came loose. I would be almost willing to bet it is the spur gear got stripped, or the screw came loose on the pinion.
