So my transmission wasn't shifting into second, I tried adjusting it, ran the screw all the way in, high speed pass, turn 1/8th turn, repeat, until the screw was knocking on the plastic gear around it.
any ideas on why?

But regardless, I hit a bump wrong on my driveway pan and flipped the car right onto the rear shock tower, popping it off of the back of the tranny case. so toast tranny case..

My car is a 2.5, I find new trannys on ebay for ~ $50, but say they are for the 3.3. It's the same part, right?

thanks.

Ah, and I'm buying a few other parts while I have the card out, is the motor saver air filter a good way to go? Seems like the general opinion on integy is don't do it.

Tranny's the same, and yes, Motor Savers are great filters. Throw some RPM on it while the card is out, you could also look into getting the parts to swap the front to run hexes, this opens more wheel options as well a allows you to rotate tires.

Well I found the tranny case for like $5, so I'm going to go with that for now. Any ideas as to why the current one refuses to shift?

Looking on amain hopmeup and rcplanet I'm not finding the front hex conversion. What should I be searching?

Most of the time when trannys arent shifting it is a tuning issue. Try leaning the motor out in 1/4 increments and see if you can get it to shift.

Turning out the screw on the transmission makes it shift earlier right? I don't think I have it running ungodly rich.

The conversion isn't a "ready made kit, you have to get parts and pieces from other cars. I will have to find the forum where a guy did it, I think it was the Traxxas forum though. A company does have a 17mm conversion, it allows you to run 1/8 scale buggy wheels/tires.

that all looked good when i had it apart. When my new gearbox comes later this week ill take some pics. The only other thing i can think of is that maybe i have the 1 way bearing in backwards or something...
