So after breaking the rear shock tower off of the back of my transmission case and differential twice in less than an hour of bash time, I'm a bit frustrated with it.

Looking around I've found Integy billet aluminum gearboxes, but the general consensus around here is that Integy = bad.

Would this be an application where getting the Integy part would not be a bad idea?

This is the weakest link on my rig right now, and I'm getting sick of the 2 hour job of replacing it.

And while I'm busy asking questions, a more general one:
What Is a decent allen/hex set that won't break the bank, and isn't going to get rounded out anytime soon?
The cheap set of allen wrenches I got I already wore out the 5/64 and 2mm wrenches :P

i have a al case, but i dont have much time on it. what i did is get a 3 mm brass insert from tonys screws. and pit in the center hole so the three screws go in from the rear. that trick works on the plastic case as well. but dont over tighten it.
 
I'm thinking as long as everything is within reasonable tolerances and nothing rubs, the aluminum gearbox should work.

Can you link me to what you are describing?
 
I was going to buy an alloy case for my Jato for the same reason, the only one I could find was by Integy, But I think alloy is the best way for that.
 
I have a half gallon on my integy case so far so good. the only thing i had to do to it when i got it was sand down the brake lever alittle (1/16 or so) because it wouldn't slide down all the way to line up with the plunger they supplied, the case matched up good and the bearings all fit snug. I think it is going to help on gear failures also.
