hey i am new hear and just been looking over threads and i have a question about my jato 3.3 the other day i was racing my brother with my jato 3.3 and mine hit his sending it flipping. the rear shock tower broke and i ordered a new one.... i got it in and i put it on...i tried to start the jato 3.3 but its didnt even slightly turn.(it said glow plug was bad)..it just made the noise like if the engine were flooded
i changed the glow plug and it still sounded like the engine was flooded....i did what you do when the engine is flooded...i tuned it over glow plug out and stuff and still didnt turn over at all it had nothing...i made sure the wires were fastened securely and they were but nothing happened still
please if you could respond back to this that would be great
claydo55 :D

it was supposed to be turned it over
sorry

You're not really clear here, does the EZ start motor turn at all? If it's not turning how does it "sound flooded"?

If the EZ start motor does turn, but the engine wont turn over at all, clean or replace your one way bearing.
If the EZ doesn't turn, turn the engine over by hand using the flywheel and make sure it's not locked up.
If the engine isn't locked up, checked your connections for your EZ start harness.
Make sure it's properly grounded to the engine mount and that none of the pins have been pushed back into the connector.

hey
it doesn't turn at all
i made sure the ez start wires were connected and they are

(if the EZ doesn't turn, turn the engine over by hand using the flywheel and make sure it's not locked up.( ==u said that
what do u mean by locked up? as in the slip clutch gear? the spur gear?

thanks i appreciate your response

What he means is turn the flywheel by hand. Look on the bottom of your chassis and you'll see the silver 'wheel' showing, try turning it with your thumb. It only turns in one direction, toward the outside of the truck. Sometimes you need to use a screwdriver if the piston is stuck at the top of the sleeve. It's not so much the engine getting locked up as it is the piston getting stuck at top-dead-center. Once you're done running your truck, you should always spin the flywheel until the piston is at the bottom of it's stroke / sleeve.

ok thanks i know what your talking abouy
itf it turns then what?
if it doesn't then what?
thanks for responding

ok i have just looked at it and its not turning AT ALL i even tried a flat head screw driver

Remove the glow plug and try to rotate the flywheel.

If you can't turn it at all, then your piston has seized in the cylinder.

How old is the engine? Was it broken in properly?
Was it run lean?

hatdoes it mean if your piston seized into the cylinder?

i is about a year now and it was broken in well but i had never worked and a couple weeks ago i took it in and they fixed it
but now i it doestnt start

I'm having a hard time trying to figure your posts out.

What had never worked?
Who fixed it and what did they do?

Please try to be a bit more clear when explaining things.

Maybe this isn't the hobby for you.

if your motor doesent turn try taking the ez-start and a screwdriver push the butten and hit the motor if it turns then it means one of the wires inside the motor got bent
