RC Driving Style
Iv been thinking, you know how full size vhicles have radiators or fans to cool the engin. well why do u think the manufactures of alll these r/c cars and trucks didnt think of inventing some system to cool these engins. I know it sure would save alot of money for the customer. I dont know it was just a thought. :idea:
 
The system that is used to cool engines on RCs is convective in nature. Air flow over the cooling head of the engine takes the heat away (much like airflow through the radiator of your car). In order to maximize this, you need to make certain that you have ventilated your RC's lexan body in good places (windscreen is the major surface).

Poke or cut holes in it!!! Most people cut a circle or a series of smaller holes in the windshield right in front of the engine head.
 
o yeah i read about that. I cut out half of the wind shield and put screen over the hole so that it gets air but doesn't let grass or other stuff inside.
 
some company made cute little vents that you put over the holes i think its called "Ram-air" made by ramtec...i think

They dont use radiators and fans because it would just be too complicated and would boost the cost of a mill prob up and over $400 a pop. They would have to make a radiator and some kind of water pump maybe running off a batt. or flywheel. then they would need to make the block thicker and drill holes throughout the block. Thiw would allow the coolant to cirulate throughout the engine.
So 3 reasons Why:

1. Too complicated to use in a RC
2. Boost prices WAY up
3. JUST ANOTHER BIG THING TO GO WRONG

Thank gawd for not having radiators! Something else to brake..lol
 
well now thinking about it that is a good thing they dont have radiators or fans .
