i think its time we got an orlandoo going.. as a community.. dont y'all?
i know the last thing i need is ANOTHER project. but i'm doing it anyway. lol
so here the situation:
i started this truck over a year ago. i broke the arm about 6 weeks into the build (i was working offshore at the time and only working on it every 2 weeks on my down time) when i broke an A arm. well, i got disgusted and quit building it. so i'm having to work backwards from memory then replace the part all while keeping up with the smallest hardware on earth!! seriously, how do they make these things??

so anyways, heres where it sits now.. burning a hole in my soul. daring me to get back into it. lol. i'm gonna answer the call. its time. and i'm taking you all along for the ride. good and bad. my hands shake, i can't see. so this one will be slow i think. but i figured if maybe i can help someone else along?... worth it.

then i put the front shocks back on. one of the hardest parts of the build. llining both shocks up at the same time.. this stuff is so tiny, you guys! for serial. lol., also reinstalled the a arms and the front skid plate.

well i'm cross-eyed, boys and girls.. i think thats enough for tonight.
as ALWAYS opinions are always welcome. lemme know what any of you think or any advice your willing to throw my way.. i'm sure i can use it!
cheers

I always wanted one of those, but I know better, 1/24 is my minimum limit for building. But they look so cool, and I love minis. Just going to watch and enjoy your build.

that makes one of us. lol. I've had to take the a arms off 4 times between that post and now. due to them being backwards. then upside down. then one of the tie rods somehow got itself switched over to the other side requiring me to take them off... AGAIN to straighten back up. i dont remember it being this hard before. holy crap.

I've been there on other projects. sometimes you just can't win. Then you try again later and it all goes easy, and you wonder what the heck your problem was before. 🤣

yeah.. i'm getting there right now. might be time to take a break.. finally got the a arms on for the FINAL time! thats a good stopping point i think

Awesome little truck you got there man. I need to go drag mine out of the box and get started on it. But there is some research involved in what parts I need to get to finish it off. I know my kit needs a motor and servo along with an Rx.

Do you have a radio in mind for yours?

most kits come with those parts. i know that my motor is the 3000 rpm one. the servo is their own design? i think?
and get the metal skid plate!
the plastic one that comes in the kit does not ever line up for some reason. i would also suggest the metal a arms bexcause my plastic ones broke. and track bars because they line up with the metal skid plate better. plus like cool as heck

alright.. front suspension and steering are together.. this one wasn't too bad. but being that the a arms are "aftermarket" they come with a different set of hardware for the spindle that i wasn't aware of, or i lost them somewhere along the way.. they are for attaching the spindel, they dont use the ball joiints.. it a sleeve that you have to thread a tiny screw thru.. so annoying... luckily i was able to salvage some from my magnetic stray catcher. lol.
