My new K5.9 engine came in today and I just finished putting it in the old savage X.
This was a very very easy install, the motor mount, flywheel, pipe, everything fit as if it was my old F4.1
I am super pumped to get about 5 tanks through it tomorrow. Got all my batts. charging over night.
update you soon on the performance...
here are some build pics..

Nice man congrats. i can't wait till i get mine!! IF you dont mind me asking, where did u purchase it from and how much? IF u dont mind....
Post some vids...

Vids are on their way, I am just on my 4th tank right now still breaking it in, but man this thing hauls, shifts into second gear instantly and lifts up the front wheels when it shifts. I bought it from ebay from a store out of Modesto, California, it was $189.99 plus $10 shipping. The store name off ebay was...nitronutzz. They have another one on there now for $194.99

Alrihgty nice, I dont think hes actully got it up to speed yet hes breakin it in!
But man, i can't wait..

Man, once i get the k5.9 ill take care of it. This 4.6 I've almost barely put any after run oil, never did the BDC thing lol but it runs like a charm..

I don't control it, I just let it go in the direction that its going, it comes down straight though.

Ya I want to break it in first and then get a vid, because a slow vid while its still running rich won't do this big block in an X justice!
Video will be ready for the weekend.

I'm on tank 6!!

Well I finally got it tuned in today after about tank #9, I actually had it a little lean for the video but managed to take a couple jumps with it. I had very wet grass to contend with as well so you can't really tell the major power difference...or maybe you can?
you can check it out on youtube, just search for "savage X K5.9"
Let me know what you all think and I will get a better one up shortly.

Something is definetly wrong with the tuning. U can tell itby its sound when u go to slow down...But other than that, nice......... Its actully hard to see speed on utube,,

A) I find it hard to believe that the .28 with 2.9hp has more power than a .36 with 3.75hp!

B) Shipping is not $9 to Canada it is $24.99.

and C) It would cost me $210 shipped when I got a $300 engine for $199.99 shipped!

I really don't see what your getting at?

A) I find it hard to believe that the .28 with 2.9hp has more power than a .36 with 3.75hp!

It all depends on how you look at it. The .36 should have more torque but the .28 should turn a higher rpm...It would come down to gearing.

BTW, it sounds a little lean.

Ya I posted with the video that it was lean during that run. I will try and get another one on this evening. What is the best way to post videos on here?

Actually the Picco .28 only turns 34,000rpm to the HPI .36's 39,500, so higher rpm is definately not the case.

Also the Picco has a 8mm carb while the HPI has a 9.5.

So what else could make the .28 more powerful than the .36?
