So last night we got 4 fresh inches of powder so I got the t-maxx, she ran like a champ except for one thing. It would sometimes bog when I came off from a dead stop and also it would do the same thing just driving but not all the time and, it didn't want to idle very good. It is 20 degrees out but, the motor was showing anywhere from 220 to 250. An other question for you guys how do I make it so the piston at the bottom of the cylinder and how do I know when I have it at the correct spot. Thanks.:D

If it's 20 outside and you're hitting those temps, you're dangerously lean. The colder the outside air is, the more you need to richen the fuel setting.
Don't be looking for summertime performance.

Take out the glow plug and put a swizzle stick or toothpick in the hole as you turn the flywheel. When the piston is all the way down, put a paint spot on top of the flywheel, and you'll always know the piston is at BDC when the spot is on top.

oh yeah i found out when you start it cold does it build up to a start where it kinda goes faster and faster then runs and cuts out then fully starts if it does that its normal if its lean it will "studder" kinda fire random then start if it does that its lean

So what temps. do I want to be running then I am just using temp. gun like and actual temp. gun. I did though; just to be safe, the spit test and it never sizzled or bubble like it does when it is over heating. So would I be fine then.

yeah seriously I've said this before 240 to 300 on the traxxas trx motors there bad a$$ i had one go to almost 400 one time

Suicide, I've already removed a couple of your replies today. Either give accurate information, help out on the thread or do not post at all.
If you are telling him that 400 will make it run good, then maybe you should buy him an engine if he takes your advise.

Please take the time to look at your keyboard and try to locate the period, the comma, and the shift key for capitols. Your posts are almost impossible to interpret.

When I was running her she had a steady line of blue smoke coming from her exhaust. Would she be running at the right temps. then.

Well tonight sounds like about the last night I will be able to the run the t-maxx, on a count of we are supposed to get like 10 inches. I will post on how she runs.

Okay well I got it out and I would hit the throttle and it would take off good but at about half way on its peak for running it would show signs of being lean. So I started to richen it up but my easy start is crap so my battery died.

Okay I'm going to decipher what i meant. I wasn't saying 400 is where you run, but if you worry a lot like i do. I checked the temp once and it was about 385 so i imedietly shut it off, let it cool down and then retuned it to normal temps, which to me is about 270. so sorry from now on ill read what i write.
so what what i should have said in the first place, is that if you check the temps alot like it sounds like your doing you should be fine.
