So, some may remember I got my revo march 26, it took too long to open it so it was too dark outside to break it in. The next day it was raining all day. Then weds and Thursday I was puking every 5 minutes, then Friday happened. Good good Friday. I broke her in Friday, but I ran out of light (this lead to the discovery that this campus has no lights...)

So here is the first opening picture:

Notice how clean she is!
sexy

Alright, so as I said I broke her in Friday, on a about a 1/2 mile long open street next to my gym and had plenty of onlookers that kept asking me questions and egging me to do more than going in straight lines for a few seconds. See! I listened to you gentlemen and took my time to do it right.

Now Saturday happened, it rained. Sunday happened, it rained. At this current time in the story I was getting upset, I WANT TO DRIVE MY REVO! So I look up some ideas for waterproofing, lo and behold, problem soon to be solved.

Grab some plasti-dip, a pant hanger, steering servos, and what do you get?

Let dry for 4 hours, installed, looked outside and noticed I had an hour of light left with no clouds and 60 degree weather.... time to drive.
(sorry, no one else was home so no action shots, maybe Wednesday.)
results:
that out of the box smell is gone

found a flaw in traxxas design, exhaust is just sitting there... thats the next mod coming up, has anyone else ever had this problem? (notice the hole in the body and position of exhaust)

Mofo,

Do yourself a favor and maybe even save yourself some money.....Don't go crazy with the aluminum upgrades....Chances are good, unless you are going to build a shelf queen, that you will be disappointed!!!

I upgraded both bumpers and brackets to Aluminum.....I can tell you this...I would rather just buy new plastic than mess with trying to re-bend aluminum. (lesson learned) While I like the way it looks....I am not happy. One good wreck or a cartwheel or 2...and it gets "bent" to hades and back. Then never does "fit" right again. I just ordered 2 sets of A-arms from Tower. And yes they are plastic. I listened to those on the board anyway, however, I have seen for myself what aluminum really does....It adds weight...and while the part doesn't "break" it bends...and in bending becomes almost as worthless as if it actually broke in the first place. Anyway, Sorry if you weren't looking for advice...But it sounded to me like you are looking to "aluminize"...lol

By the way, Glad you were able to run it!!!!!!!!!!!!

no worries hawk, thanks for the input. Ever have the problem similar to mine with the exhaust?

Mofo,

No I did not!!! I think there may be something missing there!!! There should be a screw that mounts your exhaust right in front of the rear body posts and the easy start connector....I can not tell from your pic if it is there or not...If I can I will take a picture of mine tonight....I have a different pipe but it uses the same mounting system....I turned that rubber hose out a little bit on mine....Anyway, your pipe should be held pretty steady by the bracket and "set" screw. Maybe the screw backed out or something....

Hawk

can you take an overhead shot of the exhaust, something isnt right on yours, its not a traxxas flaw, that exhaust is mounted pretty solid stock.

Looks like you had a blast! Nothing like getting your RC dirty for the first time!

Tom

Thanks hawk. Stock is a little different, my exhaust has that same hole for some sort of securing device in the back too, and it also has that screw hole from the chasis sticking up, but from that screw hole is an "L" bracket that sticks up into the back of the exhaust. Behind the exhaust there is a little screw, it just seems that the screw came loose so it was not holding on to the L bracket.

I believe problem is solved, thank you for your help!
Time to go find out ^_^
(i will get action pix, friends coming)

MOFO,

That is a Traxxas Resonator Pipe. It uses the stock mounting system. I should have taken a pic from the back so you could actually see the set screw. My illustrating skills leave something to be desired....Anyway, I hope you got it figured out....
