ok heres the background..

i got a o.s. .12cv for my nitro sport.. it wasn't new but just had a lightly used piston and sleeve installed.. i got it tuned up good, it idols great, and runs good on the top... has good takeoff and everything..

heres the problem, it runs good till i let off quick from hard on the throtle.. if i let it down easy it will stay running, but it i let off fast (like to hit the brakes) it dies.. (the servo is set right, it isnt the fact that I'm hitting the brakes..) it seems to only do it once it has warmed up.. i kinda got it to stop by turning up the idle but it trys to go if i dont hold the brakes so the idle is to high but thats the only way it will stay running, (it still did it once with the idle high)

alreay changed the plug runs super any other time.. just up and dies even from higher rpm..

any ideas?? thanks guys..

Is the back plate and carb air sealed?
Sometimes the banjo fitting will need to sealed also.
Just a thought.
Also, How many inches of fuel line do you run to your pipe?

ill try that..(sealing) and the fuel line is only like 4 or 5 inches long
i can't stand the long lines..looks cluttered.. does it matter alot??

It will make a difference.
When you let off throttle, you might be losing pressure to the tank, and losing gas flow.
It's a small chance, but you never know.
Make the fuel line from your tank to the pipe about 10 inches and see if that fixes it.
How's the tightness of your fuel tank lid?

Well, to add to this, we changed the engine out. It had the pro.15 in it and it was reliable, but not fast.

Personally I think beason should try another backplate. The guy I got the engine from burned the original piston/sleeve up in less than 6 tanks. Temps didn't get too high as I was monitoring him as he ran it. I think there may be something wrong with the mill or the backplate. It was originally purchased as a CV (bumpstart) then had a used backplate, crankshaft, and one-way shaft installed thus making it the CVX (pullstart).

Just my 2 cents, meeeester beason.
