First of all, I've been working on all this cars issues for a while (terra crusher that I dug out of the garage) and it came very close to starting today. (quite a magical moment lol) I played around with leaning/ richening the fuel and when I richened it, it seemed to be "trying to start" a lot harder. (kind of a noob to the terminology) i could finally smell that smell you get when a car is running after getting a new fuel tank and that was a good sign. but still i can turn it over and over and over and wont start. i ditched the ez starts glow plug wire and bought an igniter. i remember the glow plugs on another car i had getting white hot but these glow plugs (brand new traxxas ones) don't even light to the very end of the coil and they only get orange. sooo is the glow plug not getting hot enough or does everything seem fine and the motor is just an old POS (very possible):( mad cuz this wont start after a lot of work

I was given this advice and it seems to help. Try warming the engine with your wife/girlfriends hair dryer first. Also try the Mcoy hotplug #59 as I recall.

Hope that helps and you get that baby up and running!

Cheers

If its been sitting I'd suggest tearing it down and throroughly clean it. Piston, sleeve, bearings, carb inlets, needles, etc and turn it over a bit with after run oil to lube it all up after cleaning.. oh and reseal everything with high temp rtv preferrably copper base. Get that at any auto store. That could at least rule out a few possibilities.

First of all, reset the carb to factory specs, then try replacing the glow plug, and the batteries in the ignitor. Give it a whirl, see what happens.
