ok i have finally started to do the 4-spider mod, i used the trinity buggy blast to get the old oil out, but i can't seem to get it all out, like it still feels oilly, is that ok? should i just start working on it?

well i got all the oil off, DO I REALLY NEED TO DO THAT!! did you not use the buggy blast, becuase that takes it away in seconds! iam so confused!!

well i got my first spider mod done and iam working on the second one. i thought this was going to harder then i thought it was. well i will start doing my big project this weekend. i mayable to get it running next week.

I would take a close look at the Diff houssings before I used them again. When I did the 4 spider conv. my diff housings had major "Wallowing out" in the place where the shaft goes. You could see where they had been banging back and forth from the start stop action. I had to use new housings.

Just might take a second look in there!

It also is not a bad idea to soak the gears that were in the grease in something like simple green or what have you. I wound up scrubbing mine with a tooth brush. I am doing a few diffs this weekend on my MBX and will make sure they will be thoroughly clean again. Later

When I did the mod on my virgin SS diffs, I soaked the gears in nitro blast then scrubbed them a little with an old toothbrush. Dip them again in the buggy blast and voila, clean as can be. I cleaned the housings the same way except I used swabs and compressed air to blast away the grease.

well my housing looked in really good condition, nothing seems like they need to be fixed. i think i will keep my old housing.
