i smoked both bearings in clutch bell the other day. is this a commom issue or am i just a lucky one? i have about 1 1/2 gallon through my savage x 4.6. my brother has about same through his with no problem other than oneway. (which i replaced at 3/4 gallon.)

I have had it happen once. It isn't a common problem, but all bearings will eventually fail. Make sure it is shimmed correctly.

I've had it happen, buy one or two extra sets. You may never need them, but it's better to have them on hand if you do.

I've had my savage long enough to put a gallon through it and done CB bearings as well. They are the hardest working bearings outside of the engine so get yourself a few spares....
