Is this a virus?

Hey guys,

Have any of you gotten an email saying your account has been disabled and has an attachment new-password.zip? This thing is getting through, and my network is set to block all .zip files from the outside. Thanks

account to what?? sounds like a virus to me.. contact the person or persons that sent it to you and find out who they are

The address is a bogus addy to look like it came from one our admins... not the case. So far I haven't found any supporting evidence that this is a virus but I am still looking.

No, there are some people who just like being annoying and destructive... Its those people who are smart you gotta watch out for...

I have gotten something like that in my e-mail. Something like my account will be disabled...? I just didn't open it and my account still exists! lol, I wouldn't worry about it unless you have opened it...

if you opened it you'll know when you try and open your task manager......it won't let you...not sure what it does but 5 people in my company got it and opened it....didn't seem to do much.....IT guys had it cleaned in a few mins though....

Yeah, I have had a few hours to read about it and yes it is a virus and no it is not harmful... well not really. Easy to clean and we are protected so all seems to be well here in IT. Thanks for the info guys.

LOL . . sorry I'm so late. But that's a definate YES.

Another bugger to watch for - these guys figure out your company support name and it looks almost as if it came from within the company. If my company's name is "widgets," it would say something like "Your account usage is approaching it's limit. More information in the attached. - Widgets Support Team" (or department.)

DONT OPEN THAT FILE...... we had the same problem something said the same or close to the same thing and it froze the computer and it took us like freaking 3 days to get everything off and then we found out we had to buy a whole new hardrive..... so dont click on that believe me it sucks.... well there you go have fun but dont click on that u will be in a world of hurt... its hell!
