I was almost sick when my son said he wanted a t-maxx 2.5 for christmas.. I knew nothing about r/c and it seemed like alot of money. How did I wind up with (2) 2.5's, 1 thunder quake, and an original t-maxx all within just a few short months?? Is this a disease??? I can't quit buying stuff.. gotta be better... gotta be cooler... gotta be faster... I can't get enough... I think my son is even worried at this point! :) anyway.. Love this forum and love the help I get here.. Great bunch of people.. thanks.. by the way.. I can't see what sucks so much about the Thunder Quake.. all I hear is bad things or nothings.. peace!

Well, I'm sure most of use like to keep buying things untill, well, never. We like to keep hopping up our cars and we like to install new things, and win races, have better bash sessions, go faster, jump higher. Stuff like that is why we like to buy new upgrades for our vehicles. It could be a disease, but too much of us have it. Your not the only one out there, were all like you in ways.
P.S. Your son is lucky!:ahh:

Hahahahha - yes, you have a sickness now. DONT seek help. Just roll with it! lol

Congrats! And glad to hear the Thunder Quake worked out for you. Some are solid while others are problematic. Plus, it helps when you have someone taking care of their ride too!

I think its safe to say, YOU'RE HOOKED!

I bought the TRX25 Maxx a few months ago for myself. I was hoping my son would want to get into it but he'd rather frag bad guys all day playing Castle Wolfenstein multiplayer. (Subscribing to broadband cable didn't help any, either)

And yes, the cool hopups are cool. Who replaces broken stock parts with stock parts??

Guess it depends on the part. As of right now, I'm almost done building a Cyber Maxx. When complete, only a couple of small parts in the tranny will be stock. Nothing else will be :bling: But I'm still working on that!

Werent you guys trying to make that maxx out of no trx parts? I think Fast Ed said that.

Well I didnt go out of my way not to. However, when looking at putting what parts I really thought 'best bang for the power' then I ended up with mostly non-traxxas parts.

Hello my name is Jeremiah and I am a nitroholic. I find myself drooling out in front of hobby shops wanting that next hop-up fix. I get that high when I buy a new kit and I am chasing the dragon for the next month buying all these tiny overpriced hop-ups. I just can't stop! Does someone smell carbon fiber?

LMFAO at Humboldtblazer!!! RC has to be the greatest drug of them all (not that I would now). hehehe:mex: :trashed:

SOMEBODY STOP ME!!!

I went in the hobby store today to get a new bumper for one of the t-maxx's $14.. I walk out with a HB Lightning.. oh ya.. and a bumper! what is happening??? do they have some kinda rehab I can go to? either this stops now.. or I get two more jobs! peace!! let me know if anyone knows anything about the lightning...

NoviceRob has one and seems to be real happy with it. I'm sure if you PM him he will let you know all about it. I'm pretty sure he has the Pro version though.

Yes, RC is a disease. I can't stop buying hop ups for either the buggy or T-Maxx. If I don't go to the shop at least once a week I get withdrawls. Now I'm starting to teach my son, who is 4 how to drive and maintain his electric ST. Hopefully, he'll want to pick up this hobby so I can pass my Maxx on to him.

Well, from what I'm reading you people are much better off than my brother is. I think he should get a "Special Customer" card at our LHS. I doubt he isn't there any dat they are open byuing something. He is even to where he is talking about the guys by first name. The funny part is that those guys aren't that good at what they are supposed to be doing. It's his money, not mine :D

I am also, addicted. I find myself doing math in my head - "well, if i dont eat out this week, and wait till next week to get a haircut, then i can use that money to buy this rc part...."

I think that sometimes, an RC habit is more expensive to feed, than an actual drug habit! lol

.....but honey, I just have to have this 100$ box of screws......

They just dont understand sometimes......

LOL - the best comment i ever got was this one from my EX-girlfriend - "you paid how much for that RC car???? But honey, I've seen them in radio shack for only 25-30 dollars! I think you got robbed baby!" I almost choked!

Notice the ex part, lol

That is what my co-worker tried to explain to me when I started looking at the r/c MTs I just laughed and said go ahead buy your Radio Shack POS and I will crush it with my Nitro MT.
