Is the TC3 still a competitive car?

I might have an opportunity to get a Factory team kit already built with some upgrades with a MT12 engine for a good price. I'm still on the fence about racing this year. I was "supposed" to start running my LD3 last year but the home life just didnt allow for it. SO, the question is, should I go for the TC3 for a good price or hold out for the Mugen or Serpent when I have more cash available?

The 3 is a gret car! Its better then 9 out of 10 drivers. When you outgrow it, Not only you will know but the people you race with will know.

They are a dime a dozen on the market. You should be able to get a QUALITY near mint unit with extras for well under $200.00 if you aren't in a hurry. Its still the defaco car at most tracks. The great thing is there are a lot of people with knowledge of setup with this car and you will never be stuck at the track not having a part.

I say go for it if thats your choice. On the other hand, I like the new stuff and yes, its better then the tried and true TC3.

Rob, the NTC3 is a great car. I think I know of which one you are thinking of getting ... probably saw it at BARCAR last year at Edison. Is it the one Ed has? If it is, I'd get it! Regardless, it is a wonderful car. I'd get another one in a second to flog around on the track.

If you need help setting her up, either myself or sl0eg1n can help you out since we raced it hard when we first hit the racing crowd. Eddy is correct, this car will grow with you and by the time you outgrow it, you would have learned a lot.

Ed was running a MTX3 last year at BARCAR

This one is a NTC3 Team (not factory team as I first thought) with a Brandie new MT.12 with RD Logics Pipe and hardcore racing chassis & radio tray. Otherwise stock.

Maybe if the IRS Fairy is nice to me this year I'll buy it. I should know by the end of the month.

Thanks guys.

Yes, I know he runs the mugen. I was referring to the NTC3 he showed me and Ratzo one day that he bought from a member here. It was to be his backup car. I thought that's what you were referring to. Your description almost fits it to the letter (if my memory serves me corectly).

I thought we were talking about the TC3 Not the NTC3.
Take my above post and toss it, I have never owned a NTC3.
Sorry.

Sorry Eddy, I guess I just assumed this being a NITRO board and all and it wasn't in the "electric" forum that by default I meant a NTC3. My bad. :trout:  :boxing: :jk:

Diver, yes thats the one. I didnt know when he got it, or that he brouight it to BARCAR  , but i do know hes never run it.

It's an excellent car. Barely run and WHOA, that chassis is sweet. Only thing it needs is to be raced.
