Just a little concerned about this deal...

$450 may be a good deal but it is my first and I am really straped for cash...
Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks

Ask yourself this question.....

Why would someone go through the trouble of breaking an engine in,
then completely loose interest in it???

The answer..... THEY WOULDN'T

This is shady.........

i would pass if i were you

Thats what I thought. He says he bought it for his kids and they showed no interest so he put it up..
The mayhem is either discontinued or will be soon. They say they will continue to sale parts through this year.

Like I said, I'm just try'n to get in the hobbie and its tempting to get a nice car with fast engine and everything ready to go for under $500...

I wouldn't be so quick to say no one would do that. I scored most of my RC stuff from a guy that was HUUUGE in the hobby and race scene 6-8 years ago. All his stuff sat around in mint condition pretty much for the past 5 years or so. Some motors only had minimal break in time (4-6 tanks on em) when I got em....and when I took them apart....you could tell.

Ask marauder. I sold him a TC3 that had been sitting on a shelf for YEARS. It was brand new....never even run. There are people out there that buy stuff on a whim, or have their plans changed last minute. So your best bet is to go look it over and make your own decision. If I told you all the stuff I got from this guy, and what I paid for it...you would fall out of your chair. In my case, this guy built a few rigs and then SEVERELY hurt his back forcing him out of the hobby. I have his old toolbox....he was good back in his day. LOT of A Main 1st place plaques stuck to the box with his name on it.

I mean I just bought a Team Losi XXX-NT Adam Drake 1 from a guy. He told me he broke it in, ran it up the street a few times....and put it on a shelf because all his friends ran electric. That truck came out quite a few years ago, and there is barely a scratch on the chassis....and I can't spin the flywheel with my fingers because the motor is so tight. I bought the truck for less than you would pay for a good quality Lipo battery, and did some wrenching and it purrs like a kitten.

Life happens.....our toys come second to life.
