Hi i've ben reading about the diff mod and i am wanting to do it because my truck is in bit's at the moment anyway,
can some poeple give me the reassurance of doing it, so basically wot's good about doing it and wot's bad about doing it, more traction etc?

I've done it tome mine and it is definately worth it.

1) stronger diff overall, less likely to blow one.
2) smoother diff feel.
3) put in some 50K wt diff oil in the diffs to make it crawl over obsticles better (not as free wheelin in the diffs)

I used Kyosho pins and a set of Kyosho bevel gears. The pins are pre-notched, and the bevel gears are the same as in the savage. i also used 70K oil in the front diff, 50K in the rear. Though if I had it to do over, I'd put the 70K in the rear.

I agree with Error. I would add one thing to his list saying how cheap it is. Just finding the parts to complete the mod can be a little trickey.

The mod is almost required if you decided to upgrade the engine.

Hell ya it's worth it.

Cost is minimal to do it too.

I really can't believe how weak the Savage diffs are.

Hehe...true. If anyone can attest to this its NCNitro. He blew a diff on his first time out with his S25.

The stock diffs were ok with the 21BB. But I'm kind of let down that HPI didn't upgrade the diffs on the 25/SS.

especially if your truck is already apart...make sure you get in there and do the diff mod! i had about 3 quarts on the s-25 and 4-5 tanks on the 24.7...and when i finally went in and did my diffs the rear diff case was almost ready to give...grooves had wore in pretty deeply. i used ofna cross shafts and hpi bevel gears..I've read that the hpi bevel gears seem to hold up the best compared to kyosho/gs/ofna gears. there were in stock at stormer last week.

I ordered from those people last week and got no parts and no reply to my follow up emails. Prices seemed fair but service in this case did not exist.

I to have ordered from them without any problems. Always got my stuff within a week.

Yeh, I'm in the same boat. Blown Diff, and waiting on parts. I'm going for the 4 spiders, hoping it toughens up. It's a drag not having the Savage to bash around. (Poor cat!) It gave me the time to paint my Bronco Body though. (I know, Pix, Pix Pix) How the hell do I get these pix from the box camera into the computor (ha ha)
