This all stems from me really not knowing if my Mamba Monster castle/neu 2200kv is bad. I'm using 48t/16t gearing and I ran 2 lipos packs thru (the engine has less then 1 hour total run time). First was a 4s1p 5000mah pack ran it out and the engine wasn't really all that hot (i will always be using 4s here on out). I then put in the 5s1p and ran it around for a few mins, then stopped it for a few mins, then ran a few mins more. it was so hot that near the end of the pack that my spit would evaporate in just a few seconds 5 or so. Now keep in mind that i didnt run it full bore the whole time it we be run for 5 mins or so then we would let it rest and do something else for a while. I ordered a 10t and 13t pinion to have gearing options. Is it safe to say that the engine is TOAST? I just want some def closure lol. I havent ran it since how can i tell its demagnetized? I dont want to buy a new engine right now. HELP

It's really hard to tell if your motor is bad unless you run it. Put the 2s back in it so you know you will not be running in to temp issues and try it. I would for sure lower that gearing down a bit. Smaller pinion or bigger spur gear...maybe both. Nitros can be cooled down by the high speed needle but electric you have to do it with gearing. Try to run it..if it is already cooked then you are not going to ruin it worse.

i do own a 2s pack 3000mah 25c. I didnt mention it in the post. Or do you mean try running my 4s1p pack and drop the pinion down to like 10t or 13t then try again? Just make sure I'm running something in it that I know isnt going to make it heat up?
