To get my stock savage 21 to be able to do wheelies.
Does it just need to be tuned right?
Or is there a way to stiffen the susmension that will allow the front wheels to lift.....right now its at the point that the suspension is maxed, lifted and looks like the wheels want to lift.......anything I can do?

After tuning, try heavier weight shock oil at the back, 52T spur, smallest clutchbell you can find, and if you still don't get wheelies: ribbed pipe and maxx tyres...

How can I change the chock oil?? And what is the size difference on the factory clutchbell, as opposed to a smaller one?

It's on the HPI website...

I think the stock shocks came with 30wt oil, you might want to try 60wt?

Since yours is a Savage 21, I think the clutchbell is 14T. The smallest Savage clutchbell is 13T. Just one tooth difference^^; so don't worry about it. How about increasing the nitro in your fuel? Up to 30% maybe?

Hmmm, has anyone ever done a wheelie with .21 engine before? I've got a .46 engine that doesn't do wheelie, lol (just wait till I put some heli fuel in it)

yes it will be rudecing the life of your motor.

yes it will be ruducing the life of your motor. Not recommended if you don't want to be replacing the motor soon

I think I will stick with the 20% then. Dont wanna have to spend any more money than I have to, I think I'm content with it being able to steer fine under full throttle, rather than no steering with wheelies.

If you really want to do wheelies, the drop in a Picco 26 or a sirio27 or a Fantom 28. Sell the stock engine.

What can I get for the stock engine if I were to sell it?!?!
I dont know if I want to upgrade anything yet....just getting into the hobby.
Think I will leave it stock until I can afford something better.
The first "MOD" That I WILL purchased when I get the money will definiately be a failsafe unit.....i dont need it driving off on me at WOT toward a tree.......it does cost to get the fail safe unit, but its alot cheaper than replacing a whole pile of pieces.

check ebay. I got the Ofna Micro failsafe for 15 dollars shipped BRAND NEW.

Failsafe... pffft. I hit a wooden pole flat out with my car coz i lost range and it just bounced back(without the bumper on)... and its only a road car(ment to be, see my gallery). One of the front wishbones popped out of it holder thingo but thats easily reparable for free! :hammer:

If you want it to wheely, get a hunk of metal or something and hang it out the back of your car!!! I suggest first hop ups should be in the speed department.. but thats just me :smoke:

An FM radio would fix that, I think? My little brother once forgot to extend the transmitter antenna, and his Nitro MT went WOT to the other side of the road and hit the kerb, breaking a front upright (C hub) ^^; I think this has to do with the nearby powerline.
