Just wanted to get some feedback on this subject. I just purchased the new RCCA mag not too long ago and the coverage of nitro vs electric seems to have almost completely switched entirely towards nitro vehicles since the last time I bought it (many years ago). Anybody else notice that? Or better yet, does anybody have any answers as to why?
Personally I think it's the outrageous prices of electric vehicles, I was thinking of adding a losi xxx4 graphite to my collection---- until I saw the price--320 bucks! and only includes the car! I duno... but the more I think about it, the more I think that I made the right decision to keep my mbx4
what about you guys?

Having run both electrics and now nitros. I can honestly say that nitro is where its at. The electrics just seem like toys compared to nitros.

I was having this exact same discussion with my LHS the other day. He has been in business for over 20 years. He informed me that there is a 5 year cycle in regards to electric verses nitro, as well as on-road verses off-road.

Seems logical to me...

I think the appeal of nitro, for me at least is that fact there is a little more skill in getting it to run at it optimal setting. I can tell you the first time I saw the Tmaxx in a video and when I heard it hit second gear that sound had me hooked.

I started out with electric and became bored with the speed and constantly changing cell packs to keep running. So I went to nitro and never gone back to electric. Only in the winter time to run in the house.

Yeah I have to say that I totally see this trend as well. I started out with the ol Tamiya King black foot years and years ago. I was totally addicted and wanted every electric thing I could find. However got my first nitro this year and wow am I hooked. I think Nitro is a lot more fun as far as wrench time and actually running it. Electric's just don't go fast enough for me. However solidly stating the fact that I totally miss how clean electrics are. Nitro is a great bit of fun and no way any time soon am I giving them up. Later all

When I got my rusty the one thing I didnt like about it was the battery life, I would put a battery in it and like a minte later I could see and feel a power decreese SP? I hated that. The only thing I can see good about electrics is its more "ecologicaly consetive" (ohh now my head hurts) But I think I was born for nitro.

i pulled my first ever non- radio shack R/C out of the closet over the weeknd..a traxxas sledgehammer i got about 7 years ago or something like that, havnt ran it in about 6 years. swear i remember it was fast..and had alot of power to go places my radio shacks couldnt...but damn..i had it scootin along the front yard and was like..WTF?? lol this thing has to be broken or some crap..it couldnt have been this slow...so i gave it to my lil cousin that has been wanting it forever. yup..nitro is my drug of choice
peace---

Hey guys, dont overlook the new LiPoly world that is upon us. I would suggest taking a good read into the bennefits. The nice part is, for indoor tracks, there will be no emissions to worry about. Run times will be just as long, if not longer, than a tank of nitro.

I think with this advent, electrics will be back in FULL swing shortly. They havent lost that much ground ;)

Actually, Li-Poly batteries can easily provide over 30 minute run times. I was reading about someone who had a Hacker brushless system and LiPo batts in an XXXT and he was getting 40 min runtimes.

i just love the sound of an engine. it makes you feel like you are actually in the vehicle.

Well like I said electric is proably better for the enviroment but then again maybe not. Acouple of nice things about electrics are the torque and you dont have to tune them or clean nitro off them.

I can't stand the sound of a two stroke engine. Plus, I want something I can just chuck in the corner when I'm done running it.

electric or nitro ? h$ll, as long as I have a controller in mine hand I am fine. But there nothing like the sound of a nitro car screaming down the street and hearing second gear!!!!!:dancin:
