Since I got my iPhone 4s, my 3Gs is pretty much just an iPod now. It's also beyond warranty and service, so I'm considering Jailbreaking it. Anybody done this? Which is the best jailbreak OS?

Jailbreak isn't a seperate OS, it just unlocks more access to things that are locked down in IOS itself. I've used the greenpois0n jailbreak a few times with good success.

Yea, that's what I was thinking.

Problem is finding a good tutorial to do it.

Can't find any support past the 3G currently

Well, if you decide to jailbreak it (non droid) best thing to do right now is to update it to the latest iOS and jailbreak using redsnow. I got my 4 done with it last week with iOS 5.0.1.

Either way, I have to jailbreak it.

Well if you want to keep the cool stuff in iOS5, redsnow is the only one that can JB it right now. If it's lower then 5, just go to jailbreakme.com on the device and you can do it without the computer.

I've Jailbroke my two iPods and my iPad....not to mention I've rooted my android and installed custom de-bloated firmware on it... So if you have any questions just ask.I'm new to RC but lots of expereince in modifying devices.. I'm sure ill have some RC questions for you sometime lol...

What Firmware are you running btw?

Small list of things I've modded/JailBroke/rooted

PS1: hardchip mod
Sega Dreamcast: Boot Disc mod
2 original Xbox's: 1 Soldered Hardchip mod, 1 007 AOF soft-mod
Sony PsP ver 1001

Vr3 In-dash DVD & Navigation Head unit in my car, I've loaded Windows CE 5.0 on it...

I got my ipad2 JB as well, but I'm still running ios 4.3.3 on it because there is no IOS5 Jailbreak for the A5 devices. I plan on getting a droid tablet for cheap to screw around with eventually.

5.0.1

Now I need to find a good working method to install Android. I'd prefer to install it on a bare device, but I don't think I can.

I jail broke my verizon iPhone 4 on 5.0.1 using redsn0w last week. Been running very good, it didn't slow down at all. MY question is, why do you want to run android on the phone? I switched to iPhone from the droid x and I love iOS 5 SO much more. Android doesn't even compare to it for me.

If you haven't updated to ios5, I'd do it now. The 5.0.1 software is the latest, and since there is a jailbreak out for it, I'd do it soon because you know apple is busting ass to get a new update that isn't jail broken out. Get it while the gettin's good
