Installed dual tanks

I just installed a second tank. Can't wait to test it out to see how it works.

Looks nice. A lot of people who decide to do the dual tank mod choose the Hayes 2oz tank.

Here is a picture of mine.

I installed the mod over the winter months. I still haven't had a chance to test it out yet. I need to stop working weekends. ;)

That looks sweet!!:whhooo:

how long will it run if you fill up both tanks??

Nice looking truck too:drool:

Tank and mount come from Newera.

Takes about 10 minutes to install. The aluminum mount is attached where the shock tower mounts to the top of the bulkheads. No drilling required.

One thing to note. The included flathead screws for the mount are not long enough to engage into the bulkheads. They will only secure it to the shock tower. Not good. You need to either get M4x25 flat head screws or you can also use M4x25 cap screws if you flip the mounting bar around so that both the shock tower and tank mounting bracked are securely mounted to the bulkhead. I went with the cap screws.

Once the tank is mounted it is just a matter of running the lines. Run the pick-up line from the main tank to the pressure fitting on the second tank. Then run the pick-up line from the second tank to your fuel filter which leads to the carb.

Then just fill both tanks and your good to go. May take a little to get the carb primed. But once it gets started there should be no problems.

I will post my findings of this mod once I get a chance to run it. Probably won't be untill next weekend.

Hmmm guys I will be interested to see your tuning issues after this. There are tons of write ups out there on installing the second tank but not tuning after the install. I am running the hayes 3oz header tank and had such tuning issues that I uninstalled it. Maybe I'm just too much of a noob with it but it has been a real pain in the bottom since I have installed it.

I will post my findings once I get a chance to run. Won't be untill at least next weekend.
