/drool I've been dying to take a road trip to the Dragon for a long while now. I just can't get the wife to go for it. She just doesn't understand. Maybe one day. :sigh:

I've been a cruiser fan my whole life. The thrill of speed from the sports bikes has always intrigued me but my heart will always be with a cruiser. In the last few years it just seems HD has gone "Commercial". I know all MC companies are in it for the buck but it used to seem like a Harley meant more than just a bike. It was a lifestyle. Now, to me, they are just another of the pack. Nothing will tug on the heartstring like a slammed and chopped Fat Boy but I just can't justify the cost for such a long lost image.

I now have a metric (Yamaha Warrior- pics in my gallery) and couldnt be happier.

the Warrior is definately a cool bike. Also, I have always liked the v-max, even though the design has been out for 2 decades now. But nothing says "power" or should that be "Power" like a Vmax. Althought the Valk is quite a powerhouse, 103 hp 105 lbft of torque. It can be idled down to walking speed in 5th gear (yes, not making this up), then throttle up and pulls smoothly.... And that Porsche 911 flat 6 cylinder sound.

750-800 depending if it's a standard or tourer. Once it gets moving, it feels a lot lighter. You can run the Valk through some serious curves. Mine right side foot peg is beveled nicely from grinding on Deals Gap.

Huh, they sure look heavier! My Fatboy is just a few ticks north of 600 and, like the Valky, rides super smooth when he's rolling along!

I'm with ya Robriguez. I'm a cruiser at heart, though those crotch rockets sure have some giddy-up in 'em! I generally ride just to get away from the chaos of life, so my goal is not necessarily to see how fast I can ride and get home, but rather the opposite! I love sitting at a stop light and some guy rolls up on a Ninja or some like bike, wicking the throttle and when it goes green just taking off while I just let that big 'ol V-twin rumble along, annoying people like Olds97 (j/k).
